Open Thread: Ambiano Immersion Blender with Chopping Bowl

Last Updated on February 18, 2024

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated for 2024.

One of the more niche but useful items in my kitchen is the immersion blender my husband purchased for me from Aldi around 2014. For the past five years, I’ve primarily used it for one thing, and that is to make homemade tomato soup in my slow cooker. I make the soup using diced tomatoes, onions, and carrots cooked in a seasoned chicken broth, and when the soup is done, I puree it until it’s smooth and add cream and Parmesan cheese. My hand blender from Aldi helps me achieve just the right smooth texture for this favorite soup good on cold fall or winter evenings.

My hand blender was sold under the discontinued Kitchen Living product line from Aldi, and now Aldi sells what looks like an identical blender under its newer Ambiano line of kitchen products.

Sometimes Aldi calls this a hand blender, but most recently they’re calling it an immersion blender.

What We Know:

Ambiano Hand Blender with Chopping Bowl

The Ambiano Immersion Blender with Chopping Bowl (Product Code: 51215 in previous years; Product Code: 830484 in 2024) cost $24.99 in February of 2024. That’s the same price it cost in 2022 and 2023. It cost $19.99 in 2019 and 2021. In September of 2022, Aldi sold just the blender with whisk attachment for $14.99. The Aldi set costs less than most similar ones sold on Amazon.

The 2024 blender’s features include:

  • Stainless steel shaft and blades
  • 2 speed settings
  • Includes immersion blender, chopping bowl, and whisk attachments

This is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means it’s only in stores for a limited time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so after this sells out at your local store, it’s gone until the next time.

The 2023 blender did not appear to come with a warranty, but it did list an after-sales support contact as Tempo USA (Customer Care USA). We’re not sure who potentially services the 2024 model.

What We Don’t Know:

While we have had a good experience with an older model of Aldi’s hand blender with chopping bowl, we have not used the most recent model and can’t speak to how well it works. We write open threads so readers can discuss Aldi products.

  1. I don’t use my Ambiano often, but I want to use for Christmas baking and cannot find the lid to the chopper. Can I order a replacement?

  2. Have not used often since buying 2019. A plastic piece that should have stayed inside the end of the stick blender, did not. It stuck to the blade attachment. I used the stick motor not knowing it had not and it would slip. It is now stripped. Have not contacted ALDI for replacement piece or refund.

  3. Thank you for your helpful review. Is this product powered by battery or is it electric corded?

  4. According to Aussie Aldi product reviews for an identically priced immersion blender, it’s not worth purchasing – received one out of five stars.

  5. I’ve never had an immersion blender and bought this and I really love it. I use it every day and have been using it for the last two weeks and have had no issue so far. It’s a great product. Hoping it lasts and that I don’t have any issues because I do love it. It’s been my best purchase so far this year. I wanted to buy one for my best friend, but they were sold out when I checked the store again.

  6. I’ve wanted one of these appliances 51215 and used it twice, the 2nd time it quit and I ended up calling about the warranty. I was told to return it to the store. Very very disappointed that it only worked perfect ONCE.

  7. So disappointed. Chopper stopped working after a month. Of course didn’t save the receipt to packaging.

  8. Mine broke on the second time using it.

I love my 5125 hand blender! After numerous uses over about a 2 year time period, it started to shriek, then quit. I miss it. The instructions say use it only for liquids and cooked foods. I fear maybe the tough strands in the canned pineapple may have done it in! I learned about using it for soft foods after checking instruction, After it quit!! I need to get a new hand blender stick, but, where?
Had to retrieve my old Hamilton Beach model. I can put oil into the blades rotor casing when it develops a dry grinding sound, then it works well for many more uses . It is still working.

  10. Can I use the this to make milkshakes?

  11. Mine has cracks all around the wand where it attaches to the motor. This leaves the gear loose, and is probably dangerous. I bought it about a year ago at my local Aldi, and have used it only a few times. I guess you get what you pay for. I would not recommend it. You can’t even find information on the manufacturer.
