Occasionally, life calls for fresh-squeezed citrus juice.

Fresh, homemade lemonade is a favorite in my house. If I’m making a recipe that calls for a lemon or two, it’s an easy call to make lemonade, especially when, in my experience, Aldi only sells lemons in larger bags. I like that I can tailor the amount of added sugar when I make lemonade myself versus buying it ready-made in a store.

Another favorite citrusy drink is a twist on regular lemonade. When I was in college, one of my friends used to make her grandma’s orange lemonade for us. Making orange lemonade involved mixing up a pitcher of Country Time Lemonade and then adding fresh-squeezed juice from several oranges.

In addition, because my family enjoys Mexican and Tex-Mex food, we go through our share of fresh limes. One of our favorite fajitas recipes calls for grilled steak to be sliced and drizzled with lime juice before serving.

So, whether we’re making lemonade or orange juice or Mexican food, it can be helpful to have a way to extract the juice out of citrus fruits. I’ve used a manual citrus juicer for years. It’s the kind where you simply use your hands to twist a sliced orange or lemon on top, and the juice collects in a cup underneath. It’s inexpensive and simple, and it works well. However, it can be a lot of work if I’m making a large pitcher of lemonade.

That’s where an electric juicer can come in handy. Aldi is selling an electric citrus juicer with a retro look as part of a large collection of limited-edition vintage-style kitchen appliances. Other retro gadgets include a toaster, a portable blender, a coffee maker, a milk frother, an immersion blender, an egg cooker, and an electric water kettle. They all come in a stylish throwback shade of teal that reminds me of a mid-century modern kitchen.

Here, we’re looking more closely at the retro citrus juicer.

What We Know:

Ambiano Retro Citrus Juicer

The Ambiano Retro Citrus Juicer (Product Code: 811937) cost $16.99 at the time of publication. That’s on the lower end for most electric citrus juicers on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for specials if they aren’t in stock at your local store.

Aldi sold a similar citrus juicer in 2021 for the same price of $16.99. It came in a silver or stainless steel finish, while the 2022 citrus juicer is teal to match the rest of the retro kitchen appliances it was released with.

Here’s more information on the juicer, according to Aldi:

  • Available in Blue Sage or Cream
  • Includes 2 cones for different fruit sizes
  • Removeable pulp filter
  • Auto-reversing cone for efficient juicing
  • Pours straight into the glass

This juicer does not appear to come with a warranty, but the Aldi website provides contact information for Wuensche, a common Aldi warranty and after-sales service provider.

What We Don’t Know:

We have not yet tried this citrus juicer, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with products.

  1. I have one (silver one from last year). It works pretty well and feels pretty solid. For the price, it’s great. I bought one for a vacation home, not regular use, I have a better one that I use at home. It survived traveling from the Midwest unboxed in a suitcase through two stops/airplane cargo spaces, and has been living happily in the humid Caribbean now for a year.

The Ambiano juicer works efficiently and fast and is easy to clean. There is no fast-speed centrifuge, unfortunately, to squeeze the last of the juice out of the pulp (my regular one has it). Not a big deal, I just put pulp in a strainer and squeeze.

For the price, this juicer is a steal.

  2. Thanks for the review. I just bought one today and am looking forward to using it first thing tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted. I am on a plant based diet and am trying to do more “juicing.”

  3. I love this juicer. It may not be fancy like the more expensive one. But it get the job done, especially if you roll the fruit and get it soft you’ll get more juice when you use the juicer.
