Retro kitchen appliances are a thing, with the old becoming new again. Aldi is always one to get in on trends, and recently the discount grocery store sold an entire range of vintage-style kitchen gadgets. The selection included a retro toaster, retro citrus juicer, retro portable blender, retro egg cooker, retro electric water kettle, retro coffee maker, and retro immersion blender.

Among the throwback appliances was also a milk frother so you can enjoy your coffee like it’s from a fancy coffee shop. A milk frother aerates milk, adding tiny bubbles to give it a foamy texture, and milk has a larger overall volume after it’s been frothed. Frothed milk adds a pleasant taste and texture to drinks such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, machiattos, mochas, tea lattes, and even hot chocolate. It can also help balance coffee’s naturally bitter taste.

All of these Aldi retro kitchen appliances come in either a Sage Blue (almost a teal) color or Cream. We tend to be fans of the Sage Blue shade because it looks just like what we might find in a 1950s kitchen.

What We Know:

Ambiano Retro Milk Frother

The Ambiano Retro Milk Frother (Product Code: 811934) cost $24.99 at the time of publication. While you can find handheld frothers for less on Amazon, this price is lower than similar non-handheld frothers on Amazon.

This is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t at your local store.

To the best of our knowledge, this appears to be the first time Aldi has sold a milk frother. We don’t have a record of Aldi selling a milk frother within the past five years.

Here’s more information about the milk frother, according to Aldi:

  • Available in Blue Sage or Cream
  • Makes hot and cold foam
  • Features four foam selections
  • Includes premium nonstick coating
  • Features a 10-oz. capacity for heating and 5-oz. capacity for frothing

The Aldi warranties and manuals page does not indicate that this comes with any kind of warranty, but it does list Wuensche as a potential after-sales service provider. Wuensche is a common Aldi warranty service provider, and we have experience dealing with them regarding the Aldi Visage Pro Series Electric Rotary Shaver.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried the Ambiano Retro Milk Frother, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with products.

  4. Same here. I’ve had it maybe a year, and it’s stopped working. Heats up but doesn’t turn/froth. Can’t return it, but I am going to let my local Aldi know.

  5. Although I did not use it regularly, today it stopped working. The little plastic bit melted into the swirly wire thing in the bottom. I wonder how I can get my $ back.
