If you ever go to a body of water such as a lake where people take out small watercraft, you’re likely to see a few different things. You might see tubes. You might spot kayaks, or canoes. You might even see a paddleboat or two.

These are all interesting but not likely to capture much attention.

But you know what does seem to turn heads? Watching a person glide across the water standing up. There’s a good chance you’ve seen them, especially on placid waters: one or two upright people on these big boards, oar in hand, like explorers off on some grand adventure. The first time you see someone on one of those, you’ll likely take notice.

You might also take notice if you see one of these at a grocery store.

What We Know:

Aquacruz Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board

The Aqua Cruz Inflatable Stand-Up Paddle Board (Product Code: 706560) is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a limited time. (Aldi calls it Aquacruz, but as we’ll see in a moment, the company renders it Aqua Cruz.) Once it’s sold out, you won’t be able to buy it again until Aldi brings it back, if it comes back at all. Aldi does not ship its products online, so if you can’t find them in stores, you’re out of luck.

Aqua Cruz is not an Aldi exclusive brand. You can find this brand on places like Amazon and Walmart. The board is made and distributed by MD Sports, which makes a variety of indoor and outdoor sports equipment. MD Sports sells three boards: one that’s 9 feet long, one that’s 9.5 feet, and one that’s 10 feet. This particular model has the same color scheme as the Suncruzer 9; however, the dimensions given by Aldi in its digital ad preview say it’s a 10′ inflatable stand up paddle board measuring 10′ x 32″ x 6″. Check the box before purchase if you’re not sure and if this is important to you.

At the time of this post, the Aldi board retails for $199.99. That’s one of the more expensive products Aldi has sold, but it’s also substantially less than what you’d pay for the Suncruzer 9 on Amazon (currently $360) or Walmart (currently $390). It’s also priced on the lower end compared to other inflatable paddle boards out there.

According to Aldi, the board comes with:

  • A 3-piece adjustable paddle
  • A high-pressure hand pump
  • An ankle coil leash
  • A board repair kit
  • A waterproof bag for phone and keys
  • A travel bag

Aldi also notes the board has the following features:

  • Secure bungee tie downs
  • A grab handle and EVA deck pad
  • A removable fin and safety leash
  • A D-ring
  • A secure air valve

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried out this particular paddle board, so we don’t know how easily it inflates, how well it works on the water, or how durable it is. That’s why we’ve created this open thread for users to share their experiences.

  1. Following, as I saw one in the store I shop at and would know if it is any good. There were only three on the shelf, so I know I probably should not wait to long!

  2. Following as well, have it in my hands right now.

  3. Picked this up last week

  4. Picked it up a few days ago and took it out for first time yesterday with the help of my 18 pound mutt who was on it before I could even get it in the water. I am a kayaker, but I am not very experienced with SUPs and have paddleboarded maybe 8 to 10 times. The board is very light, so you might have trouble with it if it’s windy, but it is pretty stable, and tracks well. For the $199, I think I am really going to enjoy this board!

  5. Definitely worth the $199. Picked one up this morning.

  6. Interestingly, I can’t find the Aldi’s model WS700Y22003 on any other sites. Those are all listed as WS700Y220013 vs Aldi’s WS700Y22003, so am wondering what the difference might be…? I am an avid SUPer both hard and inflatable boards, so will see…. I can tell you it stinks like glue straight out of the box…..

  7. Grabbed 2 of these last week and took them to a lake over the weekend.
Great boards for the price! We were all amazed. Even a couple larger guys were on them with no problem.
Inflating with the included pump takes time – 20 minutes or so, and the last few PSI are really hard. I forgot my compressor, but will use that in future.
Deflating also takes a few minutes, and is best done with 2 people.
Included bag fits everything, and has backpack straps for easy carrying.
Paddle is a little loose at the joints, but no problem on a lake.
Love that there’s a carrying strap for your hand to grab in the middle of the board.
Not sure these would be ideal in the ocean, but on a calm-ish lake they were great. I survived some speedboat wake a few times without getting wet.
Overall, a great find if you can get one!

  8. Great to hear! Thank you

  9. Bought one from Aldi a couple weeks ago and I have already taken it out on the lake many times! I can also attach a floatie to the back and drag a friend behind me. Our 70 lb yellow lab easily got up onto this and was just hanging out. Highly recommend for easy water and beginners.

    • Just saw one at my local Aldi and it was half the price so had to purchase one. Currently own another ISUP mid price range so will have compare both. Can wait to try it out.

  10. I saw these marked down to $99 today, and they had quite a few in stock. Glad to see they have some good reviews.

  11. Bought two of these for our lake house! We love them! Great for beginners who are learning how to paddle board! Thinking of buying two more!

  12. Amazing! I took mine out in the bay yesterday and spent about 5 hours out there folating, paddling and exploring Assateague Island!

  13. Saw this at my local Aldi’s as well mark down. Anyone try these on saltwater? May consider getting it as well.

  14. Not salt but brackish that can get quite choppy. It isn’t easy to maneuver in higher wind and waves with just one fun and rounded front. Overall, we have had a lot of fun with it and you can’t beat the price point.

  15. Bought one for $99 – inflated it and it looks great. Will take it out and see. So far, quality looks as good as my other 3 inflatables.

  16. We purchased 2 yesterday, they were on sale for $89.99! We went home pumped them right up and off we went. My wife has paddle boarded a couple times and it was only my second time. My first experience was not good as the rental could barely support my weight. I weigh about 240lbs. and the board floated and handled well. For the price you can’t beat it!!! Everything you need and they are on sale everywhere, highly recommend!!!

  17. We bought one and it worked so well we went back for a second. Inflated in under 15 minutes. Lightweight and works well. It’s not as sturday as some, but for the convenience and price it works great! We are experienced water sports ppl, but ithink even a novice coukd figure out the balance.

    • We bought 2 when $99. We’ve been out 4 times-REALLY pleased! Has a patch kit-we’ll see-being careful to work on grass. Really great value even at $199-has everything -dry pack-oar-strap on ankle-pump-storage bag. ONLY
Downside is it’ a little work to pump up. Cigarette lighter compressor slow. If someone has a recommendation on quicker pump it’s a 10

      • Look up pump adapters. I have an adapter for the end of the hose that can be used on my DeWalt portable battery operated compressor. I think it may have come with one of my other inflatable SUP boards, but the valves on the two boards are identical. The compressor shuts off automatically, but I would I would caution you to be very careful about not over inflating the board.

  18. I’m a little jealous of all you people who got such great deals. I paid full price, But I’m not really complaining. even at that, I feel like I got a great deal, and I am enjoying it!

  19. cant seem to get the fin installed. the slot has 4 tabs that are blocking getting it in all the way. anyone else have this issue?
