Open Thread: Belavi 10′ Offset Umbrella + Belavi Offset Umbrella Base

Summer is coming, and while it’s fun to spend time outdoors on the deck or at the pool, the sun can be brutal. Not only can it be hot and uncomfortable, but it can cause painful sunburns and increase the risk of skin cancer. That’s why it’s vitally important to take advantage of sun-protection options such as sunscreen, rash guards, hats, and sunglasses. It’s also good to have some ways to get some shade and get out of the sun’s harsh rays, whether that’s by getting under a tree, a sun shade sail, or some kind of umbrella or awning.

During the spring and summer months, Aldi sometimes stocks large umbrellas to be used on patios and decks. I bought a standard 7.5-foot umbrella last summer to put over my patio dining table. It’s been a lifesaver when my family wants to spend time outside when the sun is high overhead. It’s also easy to use and looks nice on my patio.

Most recently, Aldi is selling an offset umbrella that you can use when you want some shade but don’t necessarily want that shade over a table. An offset umbrella works well placed over outdoor furniture such as deck lounge chairs, loveseat sets, or sectionals.

What We Know:

The Belavi 10′ Offset Umbrella (Product Code: 823043) cost $89.99 in May of 2023, while the Belavi Offset Umbrella Base (Product Code: 822451) cost $49.99.

The umbrella sold for the same price in the summer of 2022. Aldi has sold regular umbrella bases before, but if the store has offered offset bases, I don’t think I’ve seen them in several years, so it’s nice to see a base being sold alongside the umbrella this year.

These look to be competitively priced. You can find some cheaper offset umbrellas and offset bases on Amazon, but you’ll also find a lot that cost much more. When price comparing at other retailers, be sure to pay attention to whether the umbrella and base are sold as a set or whether you must purchase them separately.

These are Aldi Finds, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone until next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

These are sold under the Belavi private label, which is not a company. Instead, it’s the Aldi house brand for various outdoor products such as solar fire bowls, rattan bar carts, patio dining tables, and more.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tried either of these out yet, so we don’t know how easily they assemble, how well they work, or how they hold up to the elements. We write open threads so readers can talk about Aldi products.
