For a low-inventory store, Aldi sells a surprising variety of sewing machines throughout the year, from name-brand Singers to off-brand mini sewing machines and in between. One of the sewing machines Aldi sells under its private label Easy Home brand is the Easy Home 12-Stitch Sewing Machine.
What We Know:
The 2020 model.
The Easy Home 12-Stitch Sewing Machine (product code 14298) sold for $39.99 when we first saw this at Aldi in February of 2020. It’s still priced at $39.99 as of February of 2023.
This is an Aldi Find (Special Buy), which means it’s only in stores for a short time, and Aldi does not sell its specials online, so once it sells out at local stores it’s gone.
Aldi has sold a range of other sewing machines over the years as well, including the Easy Home Mini Sewing Machine for $14.99 in 2019 and 2018, along with a Singer brand 32-stitch machine for $79.99 in 2019 and 2018.
Features for the 2023 Easy Home 12-Stitch Sewing Machine include:
- Built-in 12 stitch patterns
- 2 thread spools, 2 metal bobbins, needle, threader, foot pedal, and AC adapter
- Two speeds (high or low)
- Automatic thread rewind
- Free arm for circular sewing on cuffs or pant bottoms
- Interchangeable presser foot
- LED sewing light
- Uses AC/DC power adapter or 4 batteries (included)
The 2020 model featured a lock stitch, top, and bottom threading mechanism; forward and reverse sewing; an anti-slip bottom; bobbin rewind; built-in accessory storage; and variable stitch length. We’re not sure if all those features remain with the current 2023 model.
Aldi has not yet published warranty information on the 2023 model, but previous models of this machine at Aldi have come with either a two-year or three-year warranty serviced by Eurocentra (Wuensche USA). Eurocentra services a number of Aldi products across different brands, including the Visage Pro Series Electric Shaver, the Auto XS Portable Tire Inflator, and the Easy Home LED All in One Lamp.
We don’t know for sure, but this Easy Home sewing machine looks a lot like the Jaxpety Sewing Machine sold for the same price of $39.99 at Walmart.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t used the Easy Home 12-Stitch Sewing Machine, so we can’t speak to how well it works. We also aren’t sure if it’s the same model sold at Walmart, but it sure looks like it.

I was so excited to buy this machine! I even purchased one for my daughter, thinking I couldn’t go wrong at this price. I think I was mistaken. I was able to make one envelope pillowcase. I completed three out of four seams on the second envelope pillowcase, and then the problems started. The bobbin thread is now catching on a metal piece in the bobbin compartment, and is tangling with the top thread, thus causing the power to stop to the machine. My husband has taken the bobbin casing apart to try to remedy this, but to no avail. I sure would appreciate any solution(s) other folks may have. Thank you in advance.
I am having the same problem. The thread gets tangled in the bottom and jams. So frustrating.
A few of the reviews of this machine on YouTube say to throw away the thread that is included with the machine as it is garbage. A good quality thread might be the answer to your problem.
Thank you for your suggestion but I took the machine back. I was so aggravated to have problems with a brand-new machine I never even thought about the quality of the thread!
Right? I ended up returning mine. Too bad…it would have been a great bargain if not for this issue.
I bought mine a few days ago. I opened it up and realized it is missing: the extra thread spool, one metal bobbin, an extra needle, the threader, the extra foot and the batteries. It was already threaded and had what looked like a tester piece. I don’t know if I should be concerned.

The pre-threading and tester piece were also included with mine; I was given the items you mentioned as missing. If you’re still interested in trying out the machine, I’d return yours to the store for an exchange. I ended up returning mine for a refund because I had trouble with thread tangling in the bobbin compartment. You may not have the same problem once you get a machine that comes complete with all items listed on the box. Good luck!

I purchased this machine. I don’t really think I can give a credible review though. I have always had problems using a sewing machine and thought that maybe a simpler machine might be the solution. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. I will try replacing the thread though, and see if that solves the problems with thread jamming. Unfortunately, I think my tension adjustment troubles are just due to my incompetence.
The machine is not working at all. I did buy it in Aldi because of lost my receipt,. If I can return it with out my receeip t let me known. Other wise it is trash

So I purchased this machine about a year ago from Aldi (it was on clearance for $5). Since purchasing it, it has been in storage. I finally brought it to my new place, opened it up, excited to start using it to make bandanas and it doesn’t work. I no longer have the receipt so I’m not sure I can return it (also it’s been a year). I tried taking the batteries out, plugging it in, putting the batteries in, and I have no idea what’s wrong with it. It did a stitch for like 5 seconds and now, I’m trying to put a seam in a bandana, step on the pedal, and nothing. Tension is fine, and the bobbins are fine. Is it dead? Someone send help!

Agree with Rachael…no advice since you’ve done everything you can possibly do. I too bought this machine about a year ago. It worked for about 20 minutes, then all it did was break thread, lose tension, the bobbin kept tangling, etc. I took it back to the store. Sorry you’re going through these issues. Chalk it up, I guess, to “you get what you pay for.”

No clue, Lee. I returned my machine the same day I bought it…I believe mine was defective.
