Open Thread: Easy Home Rechargeable Cordless Sweeper

Aldi sells a range of gadgets to help get your house clean, from bagless upright vacuums to spin mops to robotic dusters and robotic vacuums.

Here’s a look at one of those options: the Easy Home Rechargeable Cordless Sweeper.

Easy Home Rechargeable Cordless Sweeper

What We Know:

The Easy Home Rechargeable Cordless Sweeper (Product Code 2247) was $29.99 in 2019.

Aldi sold an Easy Home Rechargeable Cordless Sweeper in 2018 for $24.99, and Aldi sold it in 2017 for $19.99. We don’t know if improvements have been made on the sweeper over the years to warrant the price increases, but we do know the price for this item has been steadily increasing.

The 2019 sweeper’s features include:

  • Two speed settings for floors and carpet
  • A large dust container that can be emptied
  • 40 minutes of cleaning per charge
  • A bendable handle
  • An edge cleaner
  • Swivel steering

We also found a video demonstrating the sweeper’s assembly and use from 2018. In the video, the box the sweeper comes in states the model for that year came with a 2-year warranty.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t used the rechargeable cordless sweeper, so we don’t know how well it works. We also don’t know who manufactures the sweeper. We know the 2018 sweeper model came with a 2-year warranty, so we’re assuming the 2019 model comes with some type of warranty, but we don’t know for sure.

  1. I have had 3. As much as I LOVE this product, it does not have a long lifespan. At some point, it will break and I didn’t have the box or any info on what to do about the warranty.
At the time I purchased it from Aldi it was on sale. At $10 it was the best purchase I ever made in my life. At close to $40 I will be waiting to buy a few on sale. It lasts for about 6 months.

  2. I have one and I use it as a niche item but I do use it a few times a week.
I find myself grabbing this often with a tiled floor kitchen. I have two toddlers and I find it much easier to grab this rather than sweep.

    Pros:
    It’s easy to hang
Doesn’t take a lot of space
Great for hard floors, or flat rugs.
No cords, although you do need to plug obviously when the battery dies.
    Cons:
I would never use this for carpet, the suction and rollers just don’t cut it.
Weak handle and extension, it feels flimsy.

I would not purchase this item again. Although nice to have around, I don’t like single purpose items and I don’t believe this item is durable enough to last. In the near future I plan to buy a cordless that would be great for all floor surface types and does upholstery as well.

  3. I have had this almost a year, and I use it on my carpets and tile floor. I love it !! It works great. Was the first one I got for $24.99. But just yesterday it stopped working all together…. 🙁 very sad. I don’t have the box it came in, but I did find the manual and see the 2 year warranty (even said they will replace it with the receipt). Now that’s what I’m looking for. But what’s the shipping cost going to be ?? May be more that $25.

  4. I mislaid the model DC9V 300MA charger. Is it possible to purchase a replacememt, Arnie

    • You’d need to contact the company that services the warranty. If you have the manual for your sweeper, it should have contact information.

  5. I cannot get my sweeper to work anymore? The charger lights up green but appears not to charge it.Please advise,

  7. I want another for handle broke but love this sweeper. PLEASE let me know where I can get another. Best one I’ve had!

    • It’s not in Aldi stores right now. You can either wait for it to possibly return to Aldi, or you can look for similar sweepers at other retailers.

      • I have the Easy Home cordless sweeper model 2247-15. I paid $20 at Aldi, probably 4 years ago. Still works fine except the battery needs to be replaced. I think I have found a replacement battery at Ebay. The sweeper came with a 2 year warranty. After sales support Ph. 1-866-558-8096.

        • I went to Batteries Plus & they made me a new battery pack for $30. I have purchased 3 Sharks in the past & all 3 broke down fast right after the warranty expired. Ann in Fl

  8. My wife has two of them and loves them. We need a new battery for the one and a new belt for the other but they work great. We bought the one years ago for $19.99 and the other for $24.99 and both are excellent.

  9. Love this product. It works great both on hardwood or carpet setting. I wish Aldi sold them more than just once a year.

  10. Can I get a charger for the 2247?

  11. Mine did NOT come with the attachment that goes to the sweeper, just the other pieces. Also doesn’t have the instructions booklet. Customer Service does not answer the phone, and no help with the internet. Any suggestions?

  12. I have the Easy Home cordless sweeper model 2247-15. I paid $20 at Aldi, probably 4 years ago. Still works fine except the battery needs to be replaced. I think I have found a replacement battery at Ebay. The sweeper came with a 2 year warranty. After sales support Ph. 1-866-558-8096.

  13. looking for a power cord so I can recharge the sweeper. anyone know where I can get one

  14. Looking for replacement handle lower unit for model 2247

  15. Where do I get an adaptor for my easy home sweeper

  16. I have had two of these and would say that I have had it and do not recommend this item. 19.99 was the initial price of both and if improvements have been made since I would have to make another evaluation. It does not work well on carpets for any kind of deep cleaning and the life of the product on hardwood or tile is not remarkable. Lasting a year is the best I have got out of two purchases.

  17. I had one Aldi sweeper that I used for 5 years without any problem and then the battery died, wouldn’t hold a charge. I found a replacement battery and now my daughter has the sweeper. Our Aldi store is a small store and always crowded. We stopped going during epidemic and haven’t been back because it’s just to many customers for such a small building. I’m using a Shark sweeper now.
