Open Thread: Belavi Instant-Up Gazebo (Gardenline Instant-Up Gazebo)

Last Updated on July 9, 2023

EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi sold this gazebo again in August of 2022 and August of 2021 for $149.99 under its new Belavi private label.

Being outside is refreshing. There’s something just nice about sitting at a picnic table on an early summer evening, when the temperature is cooling, the sun is setting, and the food is straight off the grill. Add in family or good friends, and it’s just about perfect.

Except for the bugs. Maybe it’s gnats or bees or wasps, but more likely it’s mosquitoes, out to make a dinner out of you even as you try to eat your own dinner. Mosquitoes are at their worst in the evening, when the temperature is cooling, and they’re especially bad if you’re near water, which is terrible because being near water on a summer evening is otherwise quite pleasant.

One solution is bug spray (sorry, bug candles don’t work), but another is to take the bugs out of the equation entirely. To accomplish that while also being outside, you need something that acts like a portable structure.

Like this one.

What We Know:

The Gardenline Instant-Up Gazebo (Product Code: 58435) is an Aldi Find, meaning you can only find it in stores for a limited time. At the time of this post, it costs $119.99. That’s by far the cheapest screened gazebo I can find. It’s also backed by a one-year warranty.

The gazebo is 11.46 feet long, 9.84 feet wide, and 7.38 feet tall. The interior has about 123 square feet of room.

According to Aldi, this gazebo comes pre-assembled and sets up in 60 seconds or less. It has water and UV-resistant fabric, and the sides consist of a tight weave mesh to keep pests out.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t tested this gazebo, and we don’t know who manufactures it or how well it sets up and holds up.

  1. I want to purchase this garden line gazebo!
    Hiw do I do that?

  2. Its not fair only one store near me said they sold out ther other 4 didn’t even recieve the shipment and catch this last week the portable hammock with stand which i also Couldn’t find just arrived and sold out yesterday they are not getting there shipment on time!!!

  3. My husband bought one. They claim one man can set up in 60 seconds. After better than an hour he gave up. We then tried together and after an hour or wrestling it’s back in the bag for a return. I’m disappointed as it looks great in the picture but it won’t go up.

    • After the first time it’s easy, second time up took about two minutes. We had to take the nut off the top to get the top straightened out with the ribs. We think it’s great and it does sit up easy after you do it

  4. We have one. It’s great. First time is hard.
After that it goes right up. Seems like they have bad directions. Had to take the top but off to put the ribs in

  5. I need help! We had such a hard time and we ended up having to set it up inside out. Now I’m not sure what to do. We’re currently camping.

    • I think it bring inside out is a manufactured defect. Mine is the same way, waiting for Monday to call customer service for replacement!

We bought this gazebo and it went up easily. We also have the portable hammock which my daughter & I love! We also had the chance to purchase a two seater glider which we’ve set up along with the hammock inside the gazebo. Relaxing in the night air is great now we don’t have to worry about the bugs!

  7. WE HAVE PURCHASED TWO OF THIS GAZEBO. YOU CAN SET IT UP VERY EASILY. IT IS GOOD LOOKING AND IT DOES KEEP THE BUGS OUT. THE PRICE IS THE BEST THING BUT YOU BETTER GET IT WHEN THEY HAVE THEM IN THE STORE BECAUSE THEY NEVER HAVE AN LEFT OVER.

  8. I literally just set one up 15 minutes ago. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LET IT ‘POP-UP’ INSIDE OUT. It took us forever fighting with it to get it back to right way. Otherwise it is pretty nice. Now that we have it up we will make sure to out away so that it won’t open up inside out next time. Great price.

  9. Beat and faster to put up gazebo I ever had. It literally took no more than about 5 minutes and was perfect. I’ve been trying to find another one every since the storm came through and tore my top. My patio has a sort of breezeway effect so the wind is a beast to any gazebo we put up. But this one is so easy. If I ever find another one, when windy bad weather is coming, we’ll just push the sides in and the top will automatically drop. We were not home the first time to wind can through. But now we know. I want another one so bad.

  10. We had a storm come though I put 60 second gazebo down! But when I put it up Two roof poles came out of center. How do I get them back into center!/????

We bought this tent last year and really enjoy it. However, it took us quite some time to figure out how to set it up and take it down. Even having used it for two summers, it still takes two of us more than 60 seconds to set it up, but we are improving on that. My question, does it come with attachable/detachable side walls to keep out the rain?

  12. I bought this pop up gazebo 3 summers ago, and it went up easily in 2 minutes, according to directions. This fall the branch from an overhead tree fell through the roof, tearing a large gash through the roof, and my German Shepherd dug through the mesh to get to me (sigh), but am I throwing it out? No! I love it too much. So I bought some tent repair tape to hold me over until I can buy a new one, because I don’t want to live without it!

  13. I love it! I bought this canopy 2 years ago and it is fantastic! It is easy to pop up as promised. )Me and my husband broke so many supposedly ‘pop up’ tents.) But this one I can pop up without his help! I needed it for work purpose during the winter months and it held up to snow and ice. The wind blew it over and it was strong enough to withstand the tumble and not crumble:). Some sharp corners objects ripped the sides and eventually the roof tore by my fault. Looking to buy another one this year! It’s well worth the money and better than expensive ones I’ve purchased in the past.

I LOVE this gazebo. I would love to buy another. Where can I buy it?

  15. This gazebo is returning to Aldi in the week of August 18th, 2021.

  16. We bought ours in June of 2020 at an Aldi store in Manchester, NH. I think we paid $129. It is the easiest one to set up, it only takes a few minutes. I’m 5′-8″ and I find it really helps to have a footstool to gain some extra height when pushing the center up from the inside. The one time I set it up without the footstool I used one the segmented poles that frame the door opening to push the center up. This summer during heavy rains the lightweight coil zipper gave way half through a 3 week camping trip. I just bought a used Aldi Easy Home battery operated sewing machine to fix the zipper by replacing it with a heavy duty toothed Zip-Wall zipper. The Zip-Wall is used on construction sites to add a zippered doorway into a sheet of plastic drop cloth. My plan is to use the adhesive strip on both sides of the zipper to hold it in place while I use the machine to permanently attach the zipper to the gazebo. Wish me luck.

    • Good ideas! I’ve had mine for three years and wondered why some people had difficulty setting it up when I’m a 68 year old woman with arthritis and had no problem at all. I’m 5’10” tall though, and that helps, as you said. I had a heavy birch tree limb fall through the roof and then a large puppy tear through the screen door, so I used a roll of tarp tape to mend it because I can’t bear being without it. I’m looking forward to picking up a new pop up gazebo for after the puppy grows out of her ‘bull in a china shop’ phase

      • Some are turned inside out when packed and shipped. Mine was. It took a long time to figure out. Once we got it up we were sure not to fold it up inside out. The next time it didn’t take as long.

  17. I got ours today! I’ve been looking at getting a clam for a few years now and the price just isn’t right for me. Waited in line at aldi this morning so excited to get one (i saw it in the paper). I’m 5’2 and got it popped up myself with 4 -four olds dancing around. We where setting up on driveway and only problem i had was it moving while trying to pop center up, solved that by having the kids stand on the bottom flaps. My neighbor came over and was so impressed as well she said you where just wrestling that out of the bag when i parked how did you get it up su fast. She can’t wait to find her own. Was great place to relax in shade bug free while kids swam. It has the d-rings to add the wind panels, just not the velcro I’m gonna order some anyway.

  18. Super great reviews everyone!!

Just picked up mine yesterday!! Was soooo glad my Aldi still had some! They had 5 left for 149. I got it and a fold up lounge chair, really nice to use inside it.. Have not put it up yet.. Too hot out there right now but am looking to enjoy it come Fall!!! Super excited!!!😃
    I LOVE ALDI. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

  19. The one I purchased seems to be inside out and I haven’t found out how to set it up

    • The sides and top collapse inwards, which initially confused me. Second time at set up took less than 1 minute. I keep door mesh tied back so I know where to find my starting point.

      • I looked at 2 videos. Both have the roof collapsing inward. Mine closes with the roof outward. One of the roof poles came out and Incant figure how to put it back in

  20. I followed the instructions step by step.

  21. Love my Gazebo pop up KC-80192-1 I purchased in 2020. Easy set up by popping out sides first then push up top and reverse process when breaking down. These are water resistant and not waterproof, so I’m looking to find where I can’t get a poly tarp for those rainy days to closely match this 6-sided gazebo. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

  22. If done properly, the gazebo should be set up in less than 60 seconds. If it is wrong side out, someone opened it incorrectly. Here is a video link to open the gazebo.

    • OMG thank you so much for this video!! I JUST bought mine! I was about to check out, a gentleman in front had one and he just started raving about how cool it was, that it was his second one, it’s so easy to put up and that I’d better get one right then or they would sell out! Whelp! I bought it right then and there and I’m so excited especially after all of the reviews. This video makes me feel even more confident about my purchase! Can’t wait til fall!

  23. Has anyone found wind panels that will fit this? I bought one from Amazon, the description stated it would fit a 4 or 6 wall but it is to small. Thanks for any information that will help

  24. I bought one at aldis for $149. Can’t imagine getting it back in the storage bag??? Anyone? Source for waterproof car top storage bag for this?

  25. Great gazebo. Only one flaw. Ours had three pinholes in the top toward the center. Left message with customer service…. awaiting response. Does anyone know how to repair?

  26. This gazebo was a return – no instructions, the bag is ripped at the seam, and one of the panels is “inside out” so can’t pop open. I have managed to release poles and get the material going the right way. I thought I fixed it but apparently not. There’s still a pole without a pocket and there still seems to be a panel inside out. Anyone have tips or instructions to get this fixed? I really want to use this.

  27. Guys, I just got the last one at my Aldi for $37.99!! Check your stores, marked way down!!

  28. I purchased an instant up gazebo. No problem putting it up but it was packaged inside out. The ground flap and tie downs were on the inside. Did anyone else have this problem. It can’t just be flipped because all the pop out points and the center roof are tied in a knot. The support number and email address both say they know nothing about this product. It is model number 58435. What good is the one year warranty?

  29. Yes, this happened to me. It’s in my garage in a heap pile. Super frustrating. It was so big I couldn’t package to return it and I gave up, sadly.
