Aldi isn’t the first place you think to go for technology. It’s a grocery store, after all — that means produce, not PCs. It might surprise you, then, to hear that Aldi has long carried a number of gadgets, most of them either under the Bauhn or Medion labels. This is especially true overseas: Aldi Australia, for example, sells TVs from time to time, while both Australian and European Aldi stores are known to offer prepaid cell phone service.
In years past, Aldi US used to carry things like laptops and tablets. We’ve seen less of the big-ticket tech items lately, but Aldi still runs a few consumer electronics, especially in the accessory category. That includes flash drives and SD cards.
What We Know:
The Medion 64GB Micro SD Card with Adapter and the Medion USB 3.0 Flash Drive (Product Code: 13668) are both Aldi Finds, which means they’re both in stores for a limited time. At the time of this post both of them run $12.99. That’s in the ballpark for both micro SD cards and flash drives of this size online, and is probably cheaper than most of what you’d see in a physical store.
Medion is a German-based subsidiary of Chinese electronics company Lenovo. In the past, both devices have come with a 2-year warranty.
The Medion 64GB MicroSD Card comes with the card and a larger SD card adapter, which you can use to plug the micro SD card into some other devices, including many laptops. The micro SD card is a class U3 V30 card. If you’re a typical Aldi shopper, that may sound like another language. Here’s what it means: this is a solid card for high definition (1080p) images and video. It’s got a good transfer speed and enough storage space for a lot of media. If you’re using 4K video or 8K video you might consider a V60 card. However, if you’re only looking to do HD, this should meet your needs.
The Medion 64GB Flash Drive is set in an aluminum housing and has a cap for the USB port. It’s a USB 3.0 drive, with backward compatibility with USB 2.0. If you don’t know what that means, the short version is this: USB 3.0 transfers things to and from the drive much faster than 2.0, as long as you have a device that can do it. (USB 3.0 ports on laptops and other devices are blue.) The 64GB storage size is pretty good, although if you’re looking to permanently store lots of media — hours of videos or thousands of songs, for example — you might want to consider something bigger.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t tested these two devices, so we can’t speak to how fast they work in practice, how clean the storage is, or how long they last.

I bought the SD card and cant’ get it to work in my 10 year old top of the line digital camera. is says SD card parameter is wrong. still trying to format it with different file systems to see if that helps.
Oh I checked the specs on that camera and it will not accept a 64GB capacity SD card. I tried it in a different camera and once I formatted it in the camera it is working great.
