If you’re looking to redecorate a child’s bedroom, Aldi can be a great resource if you catch the weekly ad at the right time of year. Recently, the discount grocer sold a range of products perfect for a kids’ room, from whimsical comforters and plush blankets and sheet sets to colorful window curtains that block out light and claim to improve your home’s energy efficiency.
Aldi also sometimes goes beyond the basics of bedding and window coverings and sells some fun accessories for kids’ rooms as well. In the spring of 2021, Aldi sold plush Squishmallow characters (perfect for gifting for Easter) along with plush stools designed to look similar to Squishmallow characters. The stools are fantastic for adding seating and personality to any child’s bedroom or play room.
What We Know:
The SOHL Furniture Kid’s Character Stool (product code 703148) cost $19.99 in March of 2021.
As far as we can tell, this is the first time Aldi has sold kids’ decorative stools like this, although Aldi sells functional non-decorative folding step stools several times a year.
The character stools are Aldi Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi does not offer online ordering for its specials, so once these sell out at your local store, they’re gone.

- Makes a fun addition to any kids’ room
- Offers a soft, comfy seat
- Available in Unicorn, Caticorn, Rocket Ship, or Dinosaur designs
- Pairs well with kids’ comforters (some of the comforters recently on Aldi’s shelves included unicorn and rocket ship designs)
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t gotten our hands on one of these stools yet, so we don’t know what they look like in person or how sturdy they are. We also don’t know if they come with any kind of warranty. I bought two of the kids character stools for my great grandchildren, for Christmas. I think that they are very affordable and would like to get one more.
