Being a smaller store, Aldi does not typically sell many large items, but sometimes the discount grocer gets into the furniture business. For the past few years, in late winter, Aldi sells a slipper chair and matching storage ottoman.
What We Know:
In February of 2020, the SOHL Furniture Tufted Slipper Chair sold for $79.99 and the SOHL Furniture Round Storage Ottoman sold for $39.99. They sold for the same prices in 2019, and in 2018 the chair was $69.99 while the ottoman was still $39.99.
Colors seem to vary depending on the year, but the 2020 chair and ottoman are light gray, similar to 2019. In 2018, they were blue.
For 2020, the chair measures 22″ x 32″ x 34.6″ and has a 250-pound weight capacity. The ottoman measures 19.68″ L x 19.68″ W x 16.7″ H and has a 240-pound weight capacity.
The 2019 chair came with a two-year warranty serviced by Fulfillment Services USA, a company that usually services the warranty for Aldi furniture. We didn’t have the greatest experience with Fulfillment Services when we needed help with a desk we purchased from Aldi in 2018. The company didn’t respond to our attempts at communication until we contacted Aldi and got them to intervene, and it took several months to resolve our issue with the desk. We’ve also had readers tell us they’ve had difficulty getting warranty service for Aldi’s 2019 SOHL Furniture Accent Cabinet, also serviced by Fulfillment Services USA.
What We Don’t Know:
We have not purchased or tried the SOHL Furniture Tufted Slipper Chair and Round Storage Ottoman, so we don’t know how comfortable or durable they are. We don’t know yet what kind of warranty this furniture comes with, but we assume it will be similar to what last year’s furniture had.

We bought the blue version of this when they had it a few months back. The seat collapsed not long after. I asked my husband to try to open it up to see if he could fix it, but when he did, we found out it was made pretty poorly and the inside is basically just flimsy particle board. We threw it out and bought better chairs. The ottoman is still holding up, though.
I bought this chair and three days later, the front legs were caving in! I went back to aldi and they gave me another one. I’d thus one also falls apart, just getting a refund. It’s such a bummer because it’s actually quite comfy!
I have the SOHL futon and I love it. I must admit nobody sits on it much but it’s still standing.
I purchased this set and the legs are caving in, not sure what to do about it because it’s been a since March 2020.
