Park Street Deli Artichoke Stuffed Chicken

The deli section at Aldi contains many underrated ready-to-heat meals that don’t always get the fanfare they deserve, including burnt ends, pulled pork, beef brisket, fajita chicken, and more. These dinners are all under the Park Street Deli Aldi private label, which includes a variety of deli products, dips, and appetizers such as layered dip, snack trays, Mexicali dip, chicken salad, street corn dip, mac and cheese, lobster roll dip, and more.

My family and I have been slowly working our way through the heat-and-serve meals in the Park Street Deli line, and we’ve yet to try one we didn’t like. Most recently, I picked up some artichoke stuffed chicken.

Park Street Deli Artichoke Stuffed Chicken

Park Street Deli Artichoke Stuffed Chicken cost $6.99 for a 16-ounce package at the time of publication. The package describes this as “boneless skinless chicken breast with rib meat hand stuffed with artichoke, spinach, & Parmesan cheese.” It is fully cooked and is perishable, so it should be kept refrigerated. The chicken package I purchased in early June had a best-by date of mid July.

This is a Regular Buy, which means you should be able to find it at Aldi all year.

If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains milk and wheat.

One package has about three five-ounce (140-gram) servings. One serving has 210 calories, 8 grams of total fat (12% DV), 4 grams of saturated fat (20% DV), 85 mg of cholesterol (28% DV), 490 mg of sodium (20% DV), 7 grams of total carbohydrates (2% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber, 1 gram of sugar, and 28 grams of protein.

The package has directions for heating this chicken in the microwave. Using scissors, cut open the package and place the chicken on a cutting board. Slice the chicken breast into 1-inch slices. Place all the pieces on a microwave-safe plate and drizzle any remaining juices evenly over the slices. Apply a damp paper towel to your dish. Microwave for 3 minutes or until hot. Remove the damp paper towel. Let cool for 30 seconds and then serve.

This chicken may be frozen if you don’t plan to eat it right away. To defrost it, place the package in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. Then follow the heating instructions above. Use the product within three days of defrosting.

Chicken ready to serve.

This was easy to heat in the microwave, although the chicken was so tender it fell apart some as I removed it from the packaging. This meal won’t win any awards for its looks. It does not look anything like the picture on the package, which features golden brown chicken and a nice-looking filling with cheese and artichokes. Instead, it’s plain chicken with a pale green mushy filling. The filling was kind of stacked on top of the chicken rather than stuffed inside, too.

Flavor wise, this is okay but a bit on the blander side compared to some of the other ready-to-heat meals in the Aldi deli section. My family thought this chicken was all right, but it’s probably not something I’ll buy again.

The Verdict:

Park Street Deli Artichoke Stuffed Chicken features chicken stuffed with artichokes and cheese. It’s sold refrigerated and quickly heats in the microwave for an easy meal. This chicken doesn’t look very appetizing, but it tastes okay, if a bit bland.

  1. I take care of my 89-year-old father. This is one of my go-to meals for him. Granted, I do have to doctor it up with a bit of salt and pepper, but I cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and mix with Aldi’s herbed cauliflower rice. He hasn’t complained once over the years! I love Aldi’s heat n serve entrees because they are easy for me to prepare and I know they are nutritious for my dad.

  2. I used to love this stuff, this was one of me and my husbands favorite, but for some reason it tastes completely different?? It used to have so much flavor and now its so bland and DRY and it looks like there is less packaged also, we used to be able to split it and have some leftover but now we are scraping just to get a serving for the both of us. The last two times i bought it i opened up the package and it wasnt even artichoke it was BROCCOLI and chicken!! Very disappointed, not sure why they changed the flavor because it is not good now.

    • I could be wrong, but I think Aldi sells both this artichoke-stuffed chicken and the broccoli-stuffed chicken you mentioned, but the packages look very similar since they both have chicken filled with green stuff. I’m hesitant to try the broccoli chicken version because the artichoke chicken really didn’t impress us.

  3. I just had the “broccoli augratin stuffed” chicken breast for the first time. One package is barely two servings and it was NOT good. The one chicken breast was sliced in half with nothing in it the second was a bigger breast that looked like top part was ripped off and a blob of the stuffing was laying on top then there was a bunch of the flip in the packaging. The stuffing was barely recognizable as broccoli “maybe 3 small pieces recognizable” and had a strange sour taste. I will not buy again. Was our first attempt at these type of meals from there and it totally put me off of trying anything else.

  4. I have tried this particular brand of the stuffed broccoli chicken & I was very unhappy. It tastes like “mystery chicken” with no flavor. My mouth was so confused as were my eyes. I would rather bake my own chicken breast and make my own broccoli & Parmesan cheese mixture to spread on top or stuff inside. I will never purchase this again.

  5. Haven’t tried my Chicken stuffed with artichoke yet because it is frozen solid. Aldi probably freezes them because the use by date is in 6 days.

  6. I feel so conflicted writing this about these meals. Normally, I am a huge Aldi fan, but none of these entrees have been to my liking. Burnt Ends had a strange tasting sauce and the meat was very tough or fatty. Not a good experience at all. Chicken Artichoke was also disappointing. Unlike what it used to be like, and smaller. The picture looks appetizing. The real deal looks like it wants to go direcly in the trash!

  7. I love this entree, wish it was an item I could purchase by the case
    I love it
Keep up the great job ALDIS
