My family enjoys drinking Hint Water. Hint contains simple ingredients: just water and natural fruit flavors. While natural flavors are not always as natural as they sound, if I’m drinking flavored water, I feel better about natural flavors compared to other common ingredients such as artificial sweeteners.
Hint Water is a name brand and is not exclusive to Aldi, but the discount grocer sometimes sells Hint Water during the summer months as a limited-time Aldi Find or seasonal buy. At some point, Aldi decided to try its hand at imitating the name brand. Sometime this year, I spotted fruit infused water on the shelves under the Aldi PurAqua private label.
PurAqua Fruit Infused Flavored Water cost $4.99 at the time of publication for a pack of six 16-ounce bottles (a total of 96 fluid ounces). That comes out to about 83 cents per bottle. I found name-brand Hint Water for about $1 per 16-ounce bottle at Walmart, so the Aldi water is a better deal in terms of price.
I’m not completely certain, but these appear to be Regular Buys at Aldi, which means you should be able to find them any time of year.
The Aldi PurAqua Fruit Infused Flavored Water comes in the same four flavors as Hint Water: Watermelon, Blackberry, Cherry, and Pineapple. It’s advertised as having “zero sweeteners, zero calories, zero guilt.” It contains less than 1% juice.

All of the flavors also have zero carbs, fat, or sugar. They each contain 10 mg of sodium per serving, which is such as small amount that it registers as 0% of your daily value on the bottle’s nutritional panels. For comparison, name-brand Hint Water contains no sodium.

Ingredients for the PurAqua Fruit Infused Flavored Water are water, lemon juice concentrate, natural flavor, and sodium bisulfate (a preservative). This is a few more ingredients than name-brand Hint, which contains only purified water and natural flavor.

As for how this water tastes, each flavor is very mild, similar to their Hint Water counterparts. These are great if you want water that is only slightly flavored, as if you had sliced fruit and added it to a glass of water. I feel like these Aldi water flavors taste a little more artificial compared to name-brand Hint Water, but they’re fine.

I chilled the bottles in a cooler filled with ice and soda during a recent large family gathering, and quite a few bottles disappeared. When given the choice, I prefer Hint Water, although these will do.
The Verdict:
PurAqua Fruit Infused Flavored Water is the Aldi take on name-brand Hint Water. These are simply flavored, with few ingredients: just water, natural flavor, lemon juice concentrate, and a preservative. They aren’t intended to have a strong fruit flavor; just a hint. While I don’t think these are quite as good as their name-brand counterparts, they taste fine and my family happily drinks them.
