Range Master Tabletop Charcoal Grill Headed to Aldi Just in Time for Summer

I find grilling at home to be a lot of fun. Whether it’s searing some simple burgers or a low and slow approach to ribs, the art of grilling is a hobby that I enjoy both for the experience and, of course, for the end product. There are few things more sublime than knowing you grilled a perfect cut of meat.

It’s also fun to take that grill experience on the road. I’ve been camping for years, and I like being able to tote along a portable grill to whip up some meats or cook foil pack dinners. I know plenty of tailgaters and would-be parade watchers who feel the same way. I use propane because of the speed advantage — and because I don’t always have room for a lot of charcoal — and I can also concede that charcoal is the better cooking option. I have a home charcoal grill that I use when I can.

Aldi rolls out all kinds of fun stuff in the middle aisle during the summer months, with grills often making an appearance. The grocer historically has sold standard-sized grills, which is why it was interesting to see a portable one, and a charcoal version, no less, in the recent weekly ad.

What We Know:

Range Master Tabletop Charcoal Grill

The Range Master Tabletop Charcoal Grill is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only in stores for a limited time. Once it’s sold out, you won’t be able to find it in stores again until it comes back, whenever that might be. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are not currently in stock at your local store.

At the time of this post, the grill retailed for $69.99. I looked over tabletop grills on Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowes, and I found this one to be in the mid-range for prices. It’s maybe on the lower end of mid-range compared to other barrel-style grills, but it’s not the cheapest I can find. I spotted kettle-style grills as cheap as $28.99, and several others in the $40s and low $50s. There are also more expensive ones that run well over $100. Sometimes Aldi Finds are among the cheapest in their class, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here.

What We Don’t Know:

At post time, Aldi hasn’t released any information about this grill. No specs, no features, nothing. It would appear that we won’t learn anything more until it actually hits stores.

Also, while we have used other Aldi charcoal grills, we haven’t tried out this particular grill as of yet, so we don’t know how easily it assembles, how well it cooks, or how it holds up to time and use. We’ve created this open thread for users to share their thoughts.
