Aldi’s clothing lines can be hit or miss. When I saw the Serra Cable Knit Infinity Scarf (not to be confused with its springtime counterpart) in this week’s ad, I decided to give it a try because I’d been wanting to experiment with wearing an infinity scarf.
The scarf comes in three colors: red, gray, or black. I opted for the neutral gray. It is 100% acrylic and made in China. The packaging shows simple illustrations of three different ways to wear it, ranging from a single loop to a pull through to a double loop.
I experimented with a few of these options in the pictures below. I prefer the double loop, which is the most comfortable (not too tight, and it doesn’t hang down too long) and it’s how I usually see women wearing infinity scarves. The material is slightly itchy but tolerable. If you’re looking for something super soft and plush, this may not be for you. It is wearable and decent for the money, though.
The instructions recommend hand washing the scarf in cold water separate from other items. I washed mine on the delicate cycle in my washing machine and it did fine. Do not twist or wring the scarf. Lay it flat to dry, and do not iron. I gently draped mine over a clothing drying rack I purchased a few years ago from Aldi, and it was dry in a few hours.
The Verdict:
Aldi’s Serra Cable Knit Infinity Scarf is a decent accessory item. It’s not the softest material, and some women may find it slightly itchy, but not so much that it is unwearable. If you’re wanting to try out an infinity scarf without paying a lot of money (not that scarves cost that much anyway), this one will do.
