Specially Selected Chocolate and Caramel Mousse Desserts

Aldi really knows how to do dessert well, whether you’re in the mood for ice cream, cheesecake, pumpkin cake rolls, or cookies. One dessert I’ve seen Aldi fans rave about on social media for the last few years is a layered mousse concoction. When I spotted this dessert in Aldi stores this week, I bought one of each variety. After trying them, this is not a decision I regret. These desserts are that good.

Specially Selected Chocolate and Caramel Mousse Desserts

Specially Selected Mousse Desserts cost $3.99 for a 4.23-ounce package at the time of publication. They’re imported from Belgium, and they come in either chocolate or caramel flavors.

These are an Aldi Find, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Aldi won’t ship them to you, and you can’t order them online after they sell out at your local store.

I found these in the Aldi Find freezer section, but if you don’t find them in your store’s freezer, you might try looking in the refrigerated Aldi Find area. The package states these should be kept refrigerated. After I got these home from the grocery store, I stored them in my refrigerator and not the freezer. However, you could stock up on these while they’re in stores and keep your extra stash in the freezer.

Both the chocolate and caramel flavors are delicious. They’re rich, creamy, smooth, and feature layers of cookie crumble, mousse, chocolate or caramel sauce, and chocolate shavings. These mousse cups are small in size, but they’re filling. You’ll want to savor each bite.

If you’re watching out for allergens, these both contain soy, wheat, and milk. They may contain eggs, rye, barley, or tree nuts (hazelnuts and pistachios).

Both flavors also contain Rainforest Alliance-certified cocoa.

The reusable glasses the mousse desserts come in.

As an added bonus, besides being a tasty treat, these mousse desserts come in pretty glass jars that can be washed and reused as shot glasses, small juice glasses, organizers for small desk accessories or toiletries or jewelry, or whatever you can think of. This is similar to the limited-time crème brûlée Aldi sold a while back, which came in reusable ceramic dishes.

  1. Wondering where the expiration date is on this product. I wanted to buy some today at my local grocery, but was skeptical after not seeing a “sell-by or “good until” date.
