Welby Memory Foam Knee Cushion + Any Position Pillow

Aldi sells pillows at various times throughout the year. For the past couple of years, in the late summer or early fall, Aldi has sold some specialty pillows of the orthopedic type as part of its healthcare-related Welby product line.

Welby pillows

The Welby Any Position Pillow and the Welby Memory Foam Knee Cushion both sold for $9.99 each at the time of publication. They’re both ALDI Finds (Special Buys), which means they’re only in stores for a short time.

Features of both the pillow and the cushion include:

  • “premium quality memory foam” that is advertised as therapeutic and pressure-relieving
  • a removable cover for cleaning
  • hypo-allergenic
  • pillow cover and shell made of 100% polyester
  • “luxury circular-knit fabric” on the pillow cover
  • made by Tiantai Xieli Industry & Trade Co., Ltd. in China.

Welby Any Position Pillow

This pillow claims to help reduce head, neck, shoulder, and back discomfort and to provide joint relief. The box states the pillow can be used under the back, knees, or ankles to reduce discomfort.

It’s a long, semi-bolster-style pillow with a flat bottom and curved top, and it measures about 19.5 wide and 7.5 inches long, and it stands about four inches tall.

This pillow is soft and a bit squishy. If you’re looking for really firm support, this may not be what you want. You’ll probably want to remove the tag that states “under penalty of law this tag not to be removed except by the consumer” because it’s large and may not be comfortable for sleeping with. The pillow’s zipper pull is on the larger side, but because it faces the down on the bed, it’s not noticeable.

Welby Memory Foam Knee Cushion

This cushion can be used between the knees or ankles and the package states its “self-molding memory foam allows for ideal spinal alignment” to “reduce lower back, leg, hip, ankle and joint pain.”

It’s a rectangular pillow with concave sides. It measures about 10 inches wide by 8 inches deep, and it’s about 7 inches tall.

If you prefer to sleep with a pillow between your knees to promote good spinal alignment, I found that this cushion works well. It stays between my knees a little better than a standard pillow, which is what I used previously.

I do plan to remove the the tag that states “under penalty of law this tag not to be removed except by the consumer” because it’s large and uncomfortable if you’re sleeping in shorts.

The large zipper tab on the removable cover is also somewhat noticeable if you’re wearing shorts while using this cushion; I keep the cushion turned so zipper pull is at the front of my knees rather than behind my knees so I can’t feel the zipper pull. Otherwise it’s a decent pillow.

The Verdict:

Aldi’s Welby Any Position Pillow and Welby Memory Foam Knee Cushion are both decent options if you’re looking for a little more support.

The Any Position Pillow is good for using under the back, knees, or ankles. It’s more on the softer side rather than the firmer side.

The Memory Foam Knee Cushion promotes spinal alignment and reduces lower back, leg, hip, ankle, and joint pain when used between the knees or ankles, and it’s a nice alternative to using a regular pillow between the knees.

  3. I love the Welby any position pillow. I wish I had bought 2 at the time now I can’t find that brand. It’s a very good product. Thank you

    • Welby is the private label Aldi uses for various health and personal care items. These pillows are Aldi Finds, which means each store gets a limited supply, and once they’re sold out, they don’t get restocked. The pillows do come back to Aldi stores occasionally, though. Your best bet is to keep an eye on the weekly Aldi ad.
