Aldi Disney Mickey Mouse Ladies’ Skort
Summer is right around the corner, which means vacations are beginning to ramp up. And of course, the Disney parks are all-time favorite vacation spots. I visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, last summer for the first time, and Aldi was a lifesaver. A couple of months before my trip, Aldi sold affordable bags, ears, and other swag that I used every day in the parks.
The Disney merchandise all sold out pretty quickly last year, which gave Aldi reason to sell more of it again this year, with new ears and hats, bags, jewelry, and, of course, clothing.
Aldi sold Disney clothing last year, too, but we didn’t see anything that jumped out to us, nor were we sure we’d actually wear it in the parks.
But this year, Aldi advertised women’s Disney skorts, a new addition from the previous year, and they looked interesting, so we picked one up.
The Disney Ladies’ Skort is $8.99, and it’s an Aldi Find, meaning it’s only in stores for a limited time. Each store gets one shipment and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is sold out at your local store. In addition to the skorts, Aldi sold matching women’s shirts separately to go with them.
The skort comes in green and light brown, both adorned with hidden Mickeys. And it wouldn’t be Aldi if they didn’t have limited sizing. The green comes in sizes medium, large, and extra large, and the light brown comes in sizes small, medium, large, and extra large.

I purchased the green skort in a medium. The skort features side pockets and an elastic waistband. I’ve always loved skorts, combining the style of a skirt and the practicality of shorts, so I was excited to get this, but disappointment came pretty quickly.

As I just mentioned, a “skort” means it’s a skirt with built-in shorts. Everywhere, both online and all over the packaging, Aldi labeled this as a skort, but really, it’s just a skirt. It doesn’t have any built-in shorts.
This was a real bummer for me because not only did it feel like false advertising, but it makes it harder for me, and likely for others, to want to wear this out and about, especially in a Disney parks setting. Without built-in shorts, you have to be careful how you move, and Disney requires a lot of constant sitting and standing throughout the day.
We came to the conclusion that it might have been a typo, since typos commonly happen with Aldi products.
So, if you’re okay with a traditional skirt, then there’s still hope, but if the built-in shorts were a selling point, it’s best to pass this product up.
My other major issue with this skort is the fit. I’m a women’s medium across the board, but this skort was really big on me. There are ties in the waistband to pull it tighter, and I had to pull it so tight the waistband bunched up awkwardly. The package says a medium fits sizes 8-10, but it feels more like a 10 than an 8.
It’s also way too long in length. On the packaging, the skort hits the model just above the knees, but on me, it hit right about at the knees, which is not my personal style, though some people might be okay with the longer length. If I could’ve done it over, I would have gotten the light brown skort in a size small, but Aldi often has issues with its sizing, so I’m not too surprised.
Online, I thought this skort was really cute, but it just doesn’t look the same in person. The hidden Mickeys are made of a weird material I can only describe as some sort of towel-like material. In general, the skort doesn’t have much shape, either.
A quick look online reveals that there are much better options if you’re looking for a Disney skort. Etsy is full of sellers with skorts that are much cuter and better fitting. If you’re looking for something official, the Disney Store recently released women’s skorts branded with either the Disneyland or Disney World logos.
The Verdict:
The Aldi Disney Ladies’ Skort was a product I was looking forward to trying, but it let me down in almost every way. My biggest complaint is that it’s actually a skirt and not a skort. I’d suggest saving your money and investing in a skort with higher quality.
