Disney Princess Little Mermaid Pool Float
We’re a few weeks into summer vacation, and Aldi has recently released a plethora of summer toys. They include the Banzai Obstacle Course I see every year, along with more niche items like this week’s Squishmallow inner tubes. While we’ve reviewed a handful of splash pads from Aldi over the years, such as the Banzai Mermaid Hopscotch Sprinkler and Twister Splash, inflatable pool toys like inner tubes and lounge chairs haven’t really been on our radar. I figured it was good to cover one to get the general idea.
I noticed this year that Aldi has really been pushing a lot of Ariel-themed summer items, including swimwear, sandals, and goggles all paying tribute to The Little Mermaid. So, it came as no surprise that Aldi sold an Ariel inflatable as well.
The Disney Princess Little Mermaid Pool Float is $8.99 an Aldi Find, meaning it’s only in stores for a limited time. Each store gets one shipment, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. You can’t order this online from Aldi if it’s out of stock at your local store.
This is sold under the Bestway brand, which isn’t an Aldi brand. However, products under the Bestway brand make frequent appearances at Aldi. A quick Google search revealed that this float isn’t sold anywhere else right now, unless you want to pay 20 bucks for it on Ebay, so Aldi is the best choice for this particular item if you can find it at your area store.
The float is recommended for ages 6 and up, and though there’s no maximum weight listed, it’s clearly made for kids. It’s 62 inches x 32 inches, so it’s around 5 feet in length, and the width is roughly 2.5 feet. The packaging advertises heavy-duty handles and a fun mermaid tail design.
The float came with a small repair patch and instructions on how to apply it.

Setting it up was relatively simple. I used an electric inflator to speed things up. The float has two chambers to inflate separately. The bottom of the tail or the “fin” is its own separate chamber, and then you inflate the rest of it from the headrest at the top. It wasn’t too difficult to figure out, but I did spend a few minutes searching for a third valve to inflate the middle of the float before discovering it’s connected to the headrest.

Once inflated, this has a really fun and unique look to it. We’ll see how long it lasts. For something as small and cheap as this, it didn’t come with a warranty. The majority of our inflatables only last a season or two before something goes wrong, but only time will tell.
The Verdict:
The Bestway Disney Princess Little Mermaid Pool Float is an Aldi Find. For $8.99, it’s a really cute piece that any mermaid-loving kid will have fun with. As a Disney nerd, I love the unique tail shape, and I find the aesthetics as a whole to be enjoyable.
