Introducing: St. Louis Roamer
We’re always thinking about new things to write about. Our writers have, over the years, penned pieces about all kinds of subjects, from parenthood to video games. Our biggest writing project has, unquestionably, been here: Aldi Reviewer turns 9 years old in July of 2025. It’s a labor of love that now spans thousands of posts.
We don’t plan to stop writing about Aldi anytime soon. But we’ve found that writing about things other than Aldi from time to time keeps us fresh as writers, which only helps to improve our coverage of the German grocer. That’s why this summer, we decided to pilot a blog devoted to our hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
If you’re from St. Louis, or if you visit there from time to time, this site is for you. We’ll be exploring all parts of the Gateway to the West, from parks to shopping, from recreation to culture. We’ll also talk about regional destinations within a day’s drive of St. Louis.
For me, the project reflects my own personal history. In 2023, I discovered, through a first cousin, that I’m a direct descendant of Pierre Laclede, the founder of St. Louis. He’s my 7th great-grandfather. While I’ve lived in St. Louis my entire life, this revelation has changed the way I view this city.
If you’re interested, feel free to check out our website, stlroamer.com, which — like Aldi Reviewer — has a newsletter. You can also find us on Facebook and on YouTube.
Write on.
