Simply Nature Acai Fruit Bowls

Aldi sometimes sells acai bowls as a summer Seasonal Product. They feature fruit puree, chopped fruit, and granola, and they make for a good breakfast or snack. Their one drawback is that they contain more added sugar than I’d prefer.

Then, this winter, Aldi introduced some different acai fruit bowls that only contain 2 to 3 grams of added sugars. Both feature fruit puree, bits of diced fruit and/or whole blueberries, and granola. You can choose acai with raspberries and chocolate or acai with berries and granola. (The names might be a bit misleading because both varieties actually include granola. One has chocolate bits mixed in with the granola, and the other has no chocolate bits in the granola.)

I bought one of each flavor to try at home.

Simply Nature Acai Fruit Bowls are Aldi Finds, which means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store should get one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering if these are out of stock at your local store.

We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $3.29 for each 6.1-ounce bowl in 2026. That’s around 54 cents per ounce.

These are USDA Organic and certified organic by Quality Assurance International. These are also non GMO, vegan, kosher, and gluten free.

If you’re looking out for allergens, the acai with raspberries and chocolate contains soy. The acai with berries and granola lists no common allergens.

These have good carbs-to-fiber ratios. The raspberries and chocolate version has a carbs-to-fiber ratio of 5.6:1, while the berries and granola version has a ratio of 5.2:1.

When you open the boxes, you’ll find one fruit bowl sealed with plastic film, along with a small bag of granola.

These are frozen solid, and you have to thaw the bowls before serving them. The boxes have directions. Remove the bowl from the box, set aside the granola packet, and then choose whether you want to thaw the bowl at room temperature or with a quick thaw in the microwave.

To thaw at room temperature, let the bowl sit at room temperature for 60 minutes. Then remove the seal, stir and break up the contents, and let sit for another 20 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Top with granola and serve.

For a quick thaw, peel the seal on the bowl halfway to vent. Microwave for 25 seconds, then remove the seal and stir. If needed, heat in additional 5- to 10-second increments until desired consistency is reached. Top with granola and serve.

We liked these. There is an art to thawing them. I thawed them at room temperature, and they start to get runny if you let them thaw much longer than the stated time, so you’ll want to eat them right away once they reach your desired consistency.

They have just the right amount of sweetness and aren’t overly sweet, and I like how they mostly contain fruit and granola. I feel good about enjoying these, and I’d pick them up again. I like the raspberries and chocolate one best (because chocolate!), but they’re both good.

The Verdict:

Simply Nature Acai Fruit Bowls come in two varieties: acai with raspberries and chocolate, and acai with berries and granola. They’re sold frozen, and you thaw them for an hour and 20 minutes on the counter, or quickly in the microwave for less than a minute. They’re a nice, sweet snack without much added sugar and with a good amount of fiber.
