Aldi Among the Finalists for the 2019 World Dairy Innovation Awards

If you’re an average Aldi shopper, there’s a good chance you didn’t know that there is an international competition in the dairy industry. If you’re an Aldi blogger, you didn’t know about it until this morning, either.

Well, there is. It’s called the World Dairy Innovation Awards, organized by international food and drink media company Zenith Global.

According to the awards website, “The World Dairy Innovation Awards, in association with the 13th Global Dairy Congress, are a celebration of innovation and excellence across every category of the international dairy industry.”

In the shortlist of 2019 finalists, Aldi has four products up for competition.

In the category of Best allergy-friendly dairy or dairy alternative product, Aldi has two finalists: Friendly Farms Almond Milk Coffee Creamers and Friendly Farms Almond Nog.

In the category of Best brand extension or reformulation, Aldi has one finalist: Specially Selected Gourmet Cream Cheese Rolls.

And in the Best dairy dessert category, Aldi has one finalist: Specially Selected Italian Ice Cream Cups.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the 13th Global Dairy Congress in Lisbon, Portugal, on June 26, 2019. Aldi did not win any awards in the competition in 2018.
