Aldi CEO Speaks Out On Rising Prices With “Our Price Promise”
Earlier this week, Aldi CEO Jason Hart issued a statement through Aldi’s various channels, including its website, via email and on social media. The title of the press release reads Our Price Promise.
Hart never mentions inflation by name, but he does indirectly reference rising prices in relationship to Aldi, noting that “[no] matter what happens in the world around us, ALDI will always be the low-price leader in every community we serve.” Hart also references rising gas prices and home energy bills before drawing Aldi as a contrast, saying that “you can count on ALDI as a bright spot in your weekly budget.”
It should be noted that Hart doesn’t promise that Aldi won’t raise prices. In fact, virtually every retailer, including grocers, will have no choice but to do so. What he does emphasize is Aldi’s commitment to keeping its prices lower than its competitors, something that may help it benefit even during a time of rising inflation and ongoing supply chain issues.
