Aldi Blossom Feminine Hygiene Products
EDITOR’S NOTE: Aldi discontinued its feminine hygiene products in the late summer of 2024.
Aldi has a small Regular Buy personal care product selection that includes face wash, face creams, and bar soap, as well as name-brand items like Secret deodorant, Crest toothpaste, and even some Always and Tampax feminine hygiene products. The low-inventory grocer also sells its own store-brand line of feminine hygiene products.
Aldi’s Blossom line of feminine products includes pads in a variety of sizes and absorbency levels. Some have wings for added protection, and some don’t. The Blossom line also includes tampons with various absorbency levels as well as panty liners. In short, Aldi has products for light and heavy flow and everything in between, including overnight coverage. It’s basically everything you would need to get through your cycle. Aldi even sells its own brand of Ibuprofen for days when you need cramp relief, although my local stores have not always had it in stock.
Blossom product packaging contains a disclaimer that states: “This product is not manufactured or distributed by The Procter & Gamble Company, owner of the register trademark Always.”
Blossom pads have a Cotton Enhanced seal from Cotton Incorporated, as well as a DRI-FIT trademark. The packages state DRI-FIT is “a new level of skin health and protection.” The packaging states the pads’ body side covers contain a “nonwoven with at least 15% cotton.” The pad packaging also states the products have a “breathable outer layer” and help “combat skin discomfort.”
I have used the Always brand for years, and sometimes the Target brand, and in my experience, Aldi’s Blossom pads and panty liners are comparable to name-brand Always products. I have never had problems with leakage or irritation with them, so they are worth considering if you’re trying to save a little money on hygiene products. I don’t have much experience with Blossom tampons, so if you have used them, please share your opinion in the comments.
If you’re wary of using any of these store-brand products, you can still purchase some Always and Tampax products at Aldi at decent prices, although the selection is small and they may not be largely discounted compared to prices at larger grocery stores, drugstores, and big box stores, especially because other stores accept coupons and Aldi does not.
Here’s a closer look at some of the Blossom items:
Blossom Pads:
Blossom pads all cost $3.69 per package at the time of publication, with the number of pads in each package varying based on size and absorbency levels. In addition to the Blossom brand, Aldi also carries a few varieties of Always pads. Blossom pads come in these varieties:
- Blossom Ultra Thin Pads with Flexi-Wings in Regular absorbency, $3.69 for a 36-count package at the time of publication. The package states these compare to Always Regular Size 1 pads. They promise up to eight hours of leakage protection.
- Blossom Ultra Thin Pads with Flexi-Wings in Long Super, $3.69 for a 32-count package at the time of publication. The package states these compare to Always Long Super Size 1. They promise up to eight hours of leakage protection.
- Blossom Multi-Channel Maxi Pads, $3.69 for a 48-count package at the time of publication. The package states these compare to Stayfree and have a “super absorbent core with odor guard.” These pads do not have wings.
- Blossom Ultra Thin Pads with Flexi-Wings in Overnight, $3.69 for a 28-count package at the time of publication. These compare to Always Overnight Size 4. They promise “odor guard with up to 10 hour leak protection.”
- Blossom Maxi Pads with Flexi-Wings in regular absorbency for overnight, $3.69 for a 28-count package at the time of publication. These also compare to Always Overnight Size 4. They promise “quick absorbency with up to 10 hour leak protection.”
- Blossom Maxi Pads with Flexi-Wings in Extra Heavy Overnight, $3.69 for a 20-count package at the time of publication. The package states these compare to Always Overnight Size 5 pads. They promise “quick absorbency with up to 10 hour leak protection.”
Blossom Tampons:
Blossom tampons are $3.89 per package at the time of publication. They advertise “up to 8 hours of confident protection” with an “easy to use, smooth applicator” and “anti-slip grip for ultimate control.” In addition to the Blossom tampons, Aldi also sells some Tampax Pearl tampons. Blossom tampons come in these two varieties:
- Blossom Tampons Unscented in Regular absorbency, $3.89 for a 36-count package at the time of publication.
- Blossom Tampons Unscented in Super absorbency, $3.89 for a 36-count package at the time of publication.
Blossom Panty Liners:
Blossom Panty Liners come in one variety/size and are $3.69 for an 80-count box at the time of publication. They come in a “long” length, and the box states they compare to Always. The box also states they are “perfect protection for everyday wear” and feature “daily wear wetness protection.” Similar to the Blossom pads, the Blossom liners have the DRI-FIT trademark and the Cotton Enhanced seal, and the box says the “product’s body side cover contains a nonwoven with at least 15% cotton.” Aldi does not sell any name-brand panty liners such as Always at this time.
The Verdict:
Aldi’s Blossom line of feminine hygiene products includes pads, tampons, and panty liners. They are budget-friendly and comparable to name-brand Always or Tampax products. I have never had any problems with them, and they are worth a try if you’re looking to save a little money on hygiene items.
Are blossom pads and liners perfume free.?
Yes.
Thank you.the write up only appeared to list blossom tampons as perfume free.
No problem. They don’t smell like anything to me, so I assume they have no perfume.
The Blossom liners are the worst product of this type that I have ever used. I definitely would not recommend. The skin side shredded!
I like most things that I buys at Aldi’s but not this….thumbs down!
I like the liners a lot! They are just as good as, if not better than, the brand name liners. They wick away and they are comfortable. I personally also like the longer length.
I have used the Blossom tanpons. I have never had issues with store brand tampons before. But they are not very good, I got the Super absorbancy ones and they were not. They were like a light, I shouldn’t have had to go change a Super every two hours. Tampax and even my local grocery store brand super don’t need to be changed every couple hours.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing.
I noticed that Blossom tampons are bleach free, but the liners and pads don’t list “ingredients.” Are the Blossom pads and liners bleach free?
I’m not sure.
Can you find out what material is blended with the cotton in the liners?
The box states that ingredients for the entire liner — not just the body side cover — are cellulose wood pulp, polyethylene, sodium polyacrylate, polypropylene, adhesive, white pigment, lavender pigment, and surfactant.
Tried the Blossom overnite with wings purple pads had bad reaction was sore for days. I have used the orange ones and they were good.
Help! I can no longer find blossom multi- channel maxi- pads 48 ct at Aldi.
I cannot find super Blossom brand. I have been to 3 different Aldi’s this week. I was told by stocker that it is supplier issue. Date is October 27, 2021.
Does anyone know if blossom has lite tampons? I only saw the super and regulars.
I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’ve seen light ones.
The liners are the best daily wear liners I’ve found. Perfect thickness and length and non irritating. 80 in the box for under 4$. I hope Aldi continues to carry.
Who makes Aldi’s Blossom multi-channel maxi pads?
I tried the Blossom Overnight Pads. I had a very bad reaction to them. I have 4 burn like sores. From wearing them for 5 days. I can’t even walk properly, I’m so sore. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PADS TO ANYONE!! 2 THUMBS DOWN FOR THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!
I think it’s the perfumes they use ,I have a similar reaction too perfumed toilet paper.
Why can I no longer find Olivia panty liners, 32 Long liners in any of Aldi stores???
The Olivia brand looks like it’s specific to Aldi stores in Australia. You’d have to contact Aldi in Australia to find out what happened to the Olivia liners. https://www.aldireviewer.com/contact-aldi/
Blossom panty lingers use to be great but they have changed them and they are horrible now. I have bought my last box of them until they go back to the way they use to make them.
Where else besides ALDIs can Blossom Fem Ptoducts be purchased now that ALDIs stopped carrying them?
Blossom was an Aldi-exclusive private label brand, so you won’t find the Blossom brand anywhere else. The best you can do is try store brands from other retailers.
