Belavi Raised Garden Bed with Cover

I’m always interested in Aldi gardening products, whether it’s greenhouses or trellis planters, or even bagged potting mix. Aldi can be an underrated place to find all kinds of gardening tools and accessories.
The latest crop of garden-related gear at Aldi includes a raised garden bed on legs with a lid. I’ve previously seen Aldi sell all kinds of small raised planters and raised beds on legs. However, this is the first time I’ve seen Aldi sell a raised bed with a cover of any kind. The cover is intended to serve as a greenhouse, but it looks like it could also protect against some pests.
Digging squirrels are one of the biggest impediments to my own gardening projects, especially if I’m sowing seeds directly in a bed or planter. I often make covers out of chicken wire, and I have a few mini drop-over greenhouses from Aldi that also help to keep the critters from disturbing sprouting seeds.
I can see how this new planter with a cover could give me a boost in growing certain things such as lettuce, spinach, green beans, and herbs. So, I picked one up when it became available in stores.
The Belavi Raised Garden Bed with Cover is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores for just a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.
The Belavi Raised Garden Bed with Cover cost $34.99 in May of 2025. That’s a lot less than similar raised beds with covers I found on Amazon.
Here’s more information, according to Aldi:
- Dimensions: 30.5 x 15.2 x 33.1 inches
- Semi-transparent lid turns garden bed into a greenhouse ideal for growing herbs and vegetables
- Lid can be affixed using two wind locks
- Features detachable legs with integrated drainage to prevent overwatering
- Adjustable ventilation holes allow for temperature and humidity control
- Easy gardening at a comfortable height
- Made from weatherproof material
This was made in Poland.
This is sold under the Belavi brand name. There isn’t a company called Belavi. Instead, that’s the name Aldi puts on the packaging for many of its outdoor products to give them a uniform look. Aldi sources those various products from different suppliers.
When I picked this up in the store, I was surprised at how light the box is. That’s because everything inside is made of plastic. Once I cracked the box open at home, I saw it’s actually a fairly large garden bed with more capacity than other raised beds on legs that I’ve bought at Aldi previously. The pieces feel reasonably sturdy as well.

The box contains the main garden box. It also has two sets of plastic legs packaged in plastic bags. One of the bags containing the legs also includes a stabilizing bar that goes across the top of the assembled bed, along with some “storm protection devices” that hold the cover on, and some tiny caps that go on top of the bed if you aren’t using the cover.
Of note: the storm protection devices and caps are fastened onto a plastic grid, and you have to punch them out. The caps are so small I almost didn’t realize they were part of the garden bed and nearly threw them away. (I have more thoughts on the caps later.)

This was easy to assemble using the instruction sheet. You don’t need any tools. Everything just pops into place. The thing you probably have to pay the most attention to is making sure you attach the legs to the correct spots. The legs and the corresponding holes in the bottom of the bed are marked with the letters L and R, and you need to match them up.

Once you have the main bed assembled, if you’re using the cover, you can add that and attach the storm protection devices, which hold the cover on.

If you’re not using the cover, you can put two very small caps into the holes where the storm protection devices would go. These caps don’t serve any function and are purely for aesthetic purposes. I feel like they may easily get lost because they’re so tiny. In fact, I dropped one in the grass below the garden bed and almost couldn’t find it. If these get lost, I’m not too worried they will detract from the garden bed.

Taking a look inside the garden bed, I noticed that the drain holes are inside the legs, and there is a raised edge in each corner where the legs go. That means that water below the raised edges can’t actually drain. We’ll see if that poses a problem down the road. I’ve already gotten questions from Aldi Reviewer readers who also bought the garden bed expressing concern about the drainage.

I placed this in a sunny spot, filled it with potting mix, and planted it with some green bean seeds.

I’m using the cover for now and hoping it will protect against digging squirrels or whatever is nibbling on some green bean sprouts in one of my larger wooden raised beds.

There is a small vent on the top of the cover, and the handholds on either side are also open for ventilation.

Overall, this raised bed looks promising. I like the fact that it comes with its own custom-fitting cover, and the bed is a decent size and stands fairly tall. I’ll update this post with any potential new developments throughout the growing season.
The Verdict:
The Belavi Raised Garden Bed with Cover is a new gardening product available at Aldi for a limited time. It’s easy to assemble with no tools.
It stands at a comfortable height if you aren’t able to bend or crouch to do traditional gardening, and the garden box is a good size for growing herbs, beans, salad greens, and other small to medium plants. The included cover is nice and serves as both a greenhouse and as protection against pests when you’re trying to get seeds started or get small seedlings established.
We have some questions about how well the drainage will work in this bed, but otherwise it’s a good-looking garden bed and we’re excited to grow some things in it this year.
UPDATE (6/9/2025) — My green beans have sprouted and are growing well. So far, so good.

I purchased this raised garden bed. It does not appear to have any drain holes. Am I missing something?
I have the exact same question and am searching all over for answers like crazy! There are some holes above where the leg attaches but the main portion of the planter is lower and has no holes, so essentially it seems like water would first have to pool up a few inches until it drains down the leg holes: that doesn’t make any sense to me!
I just tried it tonight and water came out of the leg holes pretty quickly after I watered it. Didn’t put too much on there either! Works well imo!
I bought two. Only opening one at this time.
I also don’t see drainage holes except the ones that are a bit high.
Thinking about drilling some holes in the bottom and putting some landscaping fabric down on the bottom.
Thanks for your thorough review I was able to understand the drainage situation in the legs! This was exactly the info I was searching for.
I would like information on ordering new leg for or raise flower bed.
Since the raised bed doesn’t come with a warranty, I’m not sure you can order spare parts. You could try contacting Aldi and see what they say: https://www.aldireviewer.com/contact-aldi/
What all vegetables y’all planted in the Raised garden bed with cover? Except I don’t think I will use the cover.
