Aldi Recalls Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers Due to Burn Hazard

Last year we wrote about the revamped Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers, which had new features compared to earlier Aldi Keurig clones. However, several commenters claimed hot water exploded out of the device, with at least one person saying they got burned.
Turned out they weren’t the only ones.
On August 15, 2024, Aldi published a press release stating that Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers are recalled in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission because the machines pose a burn hazard. The machines can expel hot water from the top, causing burns to people using the machines.
Aldi instructs consumers to stop using the recalled coffee makers immediately.
If you own the affected coffee maker, the press release states you have two options for reimbursement:
- You can return the machine to Aldi for a full refund of $49.99 plus applicable sales tax.
- Or, you may receive a $75 Aldi electronic gift card by visiting https://www.recallrtr.com/aldicoffeemaker and registering your recalled coffee maker. You will receive instructions on how to cut the unplugged cord, dispose of the coffee maker, and upload photos showing the coffee maker’s model number, registration number, and cut cord.
The recall involves about 28,000 Ambiano Single Serve Coffee Makers that were sold in July through September of 2023. They were sold in gray, blue, pink, and purple. They measure approximately 11″ L, 4.7″ W, and 12″ H. Ambiano is printed on the side of the coffee maker. The recalled coffee makers were sold at Aldi stores in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
Model numbers and UPC Codes are printed on the rating label on the bottom of the unit.
Recalled coffee makers have the following UPC codes:
- 4061464174788
- 4061464174801
- 4061464174849
- 4061464174825
- 4061464174863
Recalled coffee makers also have the following model numbers:

The press release states that Aldi has received 25 reports of the recalled coffeemakers expelling hot water from the top of the machine. There have been three reports of burns.
