Aldi Recalls Some Simply Nature Organic Poppyseed Dressing Over Botulism Concerns

On September 16th, 2021, Aldi announced it was recalling Simply Nature Organic Poppyseed Dressing from certain stores. The recall is, according to Aldi, a precautionary measure due to potential Clostridium botulinum contamination, or what is more commonly known as botulism.

The dressing is manufactured by Drew’s Organics, a maker of organic dressings and salsas. According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after Drew’s Organics noticed a difference in color in the dressing, and after testing concluded that the dressing’s pH made it susceptible to bacteria growth.

The recall affects 12-ounce glass bottles with the UPC code of 4099100023169 and a best-if-used-by date of February 15, 2023.
