Aldi Recalls Cream Cheese Spread Products Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

On May 9th, 2024, Aldi announced it is recalling its Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products. The recall is in cooperation with Schreiber Foods, Inc., and is being done out of an abundance of caution due to possible salmonella contamination.

The recalled products are as follows:

  • Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread in an 8-oz. cup, with UPC code 4099100101881 and sell-by dates of 08/30/2024, 08/31/2024, 09/01/2024, 09/03/2024, and 09/04/2024
  • Happy Farms Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread in an 8-oz. cup with UPC code of 4099100101751 and sell-by dates of 09/13/2024 and 09/22/2024
  • Happy Farms Cream Cheese Spread in an 8-oz. cup with UPC code of 4099100101737 and sell-by dates of 09/01/2024, 09/08/2024, and 09/15/2024
  • Happy Farms Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread in an 8-oz. cup with UPC code of 4099100101744 and sell-by dates of 09/08/2024 and 09/15/2024.

The affected cream cheese products were sold at select ALDI stores in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and headache. Some people may become so ill they need to be hospitalized.

If you have a recalled product, Aldi advises you to throw it away or return it to your local Aldi store for a full refund.
