Crofton Cast Iron Dutch Oven Headed to Aldi

As we begin heading into the baking and cooking season in the fall, with lots of holidays coming up, Aldi stocks an array of limited-edition cookware. This is the time of year when I spot everything from cast iron bread ovens to turkey roasters in the middle aisle at Aldi.
Aldi is known for its range of porcelain enameled cast iron cookware, which is a dupe of expensive name-brand Le Creuset cookware. One of the latest products in this line to show up at Aldi is a cast iron Dutch oven.
What We Know:
The Crofton Cast Iron Dutch Oven (Product Code: 835225) is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that aren’t currently in stock at your local store.
This is scheduled to arrive at Aldi September 25th, 2024.
The Crofton Cast Iron Dutch Oven cost $16.99 at the time of publication.
You’ll pay a lot more than that for Dutch ovens on Amazon. Additionally, a name-brand Le Creuset Dutch oven will cost you at least $260.
Here’s more information about the Aldi Dutch oven:
- Choose from white or green
- Interior diameter: 7.08 inches
- Offers superior heat retention and distribution
- Features long-lasting porcelain enamel interior and exterior
- Oven safe up to 482°F
- Compatible with all cooktops, including induction
- Comes with a 2-year warranty
This is sold under the Crofton brand, which is not a company. Instead, that’s the name Aldi puts on many of its kitchen products to give them a uniform look. Those products may be sourced from various suppliers.
What We Don’t Know:
We haven’t yet purchased this Dutch oven, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. We write open threads to give readers a place to discuss Aldi products.

Where are these Dutch ovens from?
I bought one.
The little instruction/care pamphlet says ‘Made in China’ on the back, so they are presumably made in China.
Aldi has a support site – https://help.aldi.us/ – where you can (sometimes) find copies of the manual for (some) products, but the mini Dutch oven doesn’t appear to be there yet.
It seems nice enough.
I see this is availble now but it doesn’t say how many quarrts.
Anyone know?
