PB Crave Cookie Nookie Peanut Butter

Aldi’s recent ad included a Special Buy item I’d never heard of before: PB Crave Cookie Nookie Peanut Butter. It sounded intriguing, so I picked up a container during my latest shopping trip.

PB Crave

The packaging says this peanut butter contains organic honey, chocolate chips, and cookie dough flavor. I didn’t see any actual chocolate chips; it’s more like a thick chocolate sauce swirled throughout the peanut butter, which makes me wonder if it’s supposed to have solid chocolate chips but they melted in transit.

That was no problem, though. My kids and I promptly ate a third of the jar after we got home from Aldi. We dipped animal crackers into it, but it also would make a good dip or topping for apples or bananas, or you could eat it straight out of the jar.

At 5 grams of sugar per 2-tablespoon serving, it’s not too bad for you either, although you’ll probably eat more than 2 tablespoons.

PB Crave is not an Aldi brand. The store locator feature on PB Crave’s website indicates the products are mostly sold in the state of Minnesota, although you can order products online. In addition to the Cookie Nookie peanut butter, you can choose other peanut butter flavors ranging from Razzle Dazzle to Coco Bananas to Choco Choco.

All products are made with natural ingredients with no high fructose corn syrup, no added sugars, no artificial flavors, and no hydrogenated oils, and the company uses U.S.-grown peanuts. PB Crave seems like it would appeal to Aldi’s growing base of customers who are concerned about natural, healthy foods.

In addition, a minimum of 2% of the profits from each jar goes to Project Peanut Butter, which fights child malnutrition around the world. The jar also has a Women Owned business seal and says the peanut butter is made with Mel-O Honey.

The Verdict:

PB Crave peanut butter is not an Aldi brand, so it’s uncertain whether it will show up again in stores, but it’s great for eating with cookies or fruit or straight out of the jar. Recommended.
