Aldi Announces Thanksgiving Prices That Are Lower Than 2019

Aldi announced on October 16th, 2024, that its prices for the components of a Thanksgiving dinner this year will be the lowest they’ve been in five years. The grocer stated you’ll be able to feed a full meal to 10 people for less than $47, which comes out to less than $4.70 per person.
The Aldi press release refers to a “Thanksgiving basket.” However, it does not appear that Aldi is actually selling any kind of basket stocked with Thanksgiving dinner ingredients. Instead, it appears these items are all sold individually. Aldi says its list of Thanksgiving items includes a Butterball turkey with spices, gravy, rolls, mac and cheese, and stuffing, along with the ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie.
Aldi promises “shoppers will get welcome relief at Aldi on their favorite Thanksgiving fixings.” The price reductions are in effect on everything from fresh ingredients to “award-winning products,” encompassing everything you need to put together a holiday feast.
The fine print in the Aldi press release states the discount pricing on Thanksgiving items is effective October 16th to November 27th, 2024. (Availability may vary by store and is subject to change.) Aldi adds that these lower prices all come without the hassle of limited-time sales, coupons, minimum purchase requirements, loyalty cards, or other gimmicks.
The full list of discounted items is shown below, in a photo of an Aldi print ad we received in the mail.

Aldi CEO Jason Hart had this to say: “Every day at Aldi, we are focused on finding ways to deliver the lowest possible prices for our customers – and this Thanksgiving is no different. With 25% of U.S households now shopping Aldi, we know grocery prices are still top of mind for customers. We worked hard this Thanksgiving to deliver the best value and quality products so everyone can enjoy a traditional meal with family and friends without having to scale back.”
The holiday dinner price rollback is coming when, according to Aldi, the popularity of its stores is at an all-time high. The grocer continues to grow and plans to open 800 new stores by 2028.

Is there somewhere to find the list of items that are rolled back, comprising the “Thanksgiving basket” totalling $47? I thought it might be in their press release, but alas, it is not.
That is a great question, and one we’re curious about, too. Aldi has not published a list of what items are discounted. We’ve updated this post with a photo from Aldi that appears to show what may be discounted, but that’s as close to a list as we can find.
Update: we received a print ad from Aldi listing everything the price rollback includes. We’ve updated the post above to include the list of products, along with a photo of the ad.
