Aldi Releases Shopping Cart and Shopping Bag Christmas Ornaments for Fans

Most of the time, Aldi advertises its limited-time specials. You can see photos and read about them on the grocer’s website, or you might pick up a flyer promoting the next week’s specials while you’re shopping at your local store. We also publish a roundup of weekly Aldi Finds on this very site each week, usually on Sundays.

Sometimes, though, products will simply pop up with no warning in the middle aisle at Aldi. We tend to refer to it as “stealth releasing.” It’s always an unexpected delight to find things at Aldi that we didn’t anticipate seeing.

The most recent example I’ve seen of a stealth Aldi Find was this set of Aldi-themed Christmas ornaments.

Aldi is no stranger to selling products that promote its own brand, whether it’s colorful sweatshirts and jogger pants emblazoned with Aldi logos or even toy shopping carts with pretend quarter slots.

In previous years, Aldi also has sold Christmas decorations that are all about Aldi, including a ceramic miniature Aldi grocery store perfect for displaying as part of a Christmas village collection, plus an Aldi shopping cart to match.

I was pleasantly surprised to find these Aldi-themed tree ornaments. They’re unlike any Aldi-branded merch the store has ever sold before.

The Aldi Merry Moments 3-Pack Ornament set is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, the set is gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are sold out at your local store.

We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. I paid $5.99 for the ornament pack at my local store at the time of writing. That comes out to about $2 per ornament.

The ornaments come well-cushioned inside a box. There isn’t much information on the box other than the fact that the ornaments are made in China. There’s also a warning that these are not toys and are decorative items only.

Upon unpacking the box, the first thing I noticed is that the glitter from the shopping cart and shopping bag ornaments tends to get everywhere. Another observation was that these ornaments come with strings attached for hanging them on a tree. You don’t need to buy separate ornament hooks, although you could technically remove the strings and put hooks on these if you wanted to. The shopping bag ornament has some blue ribbon “handles” glued on as a special extra detail.

I’m looking forward to putting these on my Christmas tree this holiday season. I’ll update this post with any potential new developments.
