Trader Joe’s Caramelized Onion & Bell Pepper Turkey Patties
Turkey burgers are a favorite in my house. I found a turkey burger recipe that my family loves, and we hardly ever have beef burgers at home anymore.
I did recently spot some turkey burger patties at Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi. They have caramelized onions and bell peppers mixed into the meat, and they looked like just the thing for a quick and easy family dinner. These are stocked in the fresh meat section at Trader Joe’s.
We buy products to review using our own money. I paid $5.99 for a 16-ounce package of Trader Joe’s Caramelized Onion & Bell Pepper Turkey Patties at my local Trader Joe’s store in early 2025. One package contains four patties, which comes out to about $1.50 per patty, or about 37 cents per ounce. That’s more than you’d pay if you bought plain ground turkey and made your own burgers, but you’re paying for some convenience here.
The package I bought in mid-February had a use-by date of early March. You can freeze these if you don’t plan to eat them soon.

Ingredients are turkey, caramelized onions, and 2% or less of dried onions, dehydrated red bell peppers, dehydrated green bell peppers, dried vinegar, yeast extract, cultured onion juice, and natural flavors.
I’m not a fan of natural flavors, but otherwise the ingredients list looks okay.
One patty has 130 calories, 4 grams of total fat (5% DV), 1 gram of saturated fat (5% DV), 360 mg of sodium (16% DV), 1 gram of total carbohydrates (0% DV), no dietary fiber, no total sugars or added sugars, and 22 grams of protein.

We cooked these on our outdoor grill, and they made our backyard smell like a restaurant. I served the burgers on some lightly toasted whole wheat buns from Trader Joe’s, and everyone used a variety of toppings, including sliced tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, or TJ’s Magnifisauce.
My family agreed they like our homemade turkey burger recipe the best, but these were fine. We didn’t overcook them according to our food thermometer, but some of us thought these were a little on the dry side. We also felt like these weren’t quite as flavorful as what we make from scratch. However, these are convenient, and they’re good on their own merits if you want easy turkey burgers.
The Verdict:
Trader Joe’s Caramelized Onion & Bell Pepper Turkey Patties are sold in the refrigerated fresh meat aisle at TJ’s. They’re a decent option if you want a burger without the beef. We didn’t think they were the best turkey burgers we’ve ever had, but they’re all right.
