Trader Joe’s Thai Green Curry
I love many of the ready-to-heat foods in the freezer aisle at Trader Joe’s, which is a cousin to Aldi. When I want something with an international flair, I turn to dishes such as the paneer tikka masala or the penne arrabbiata.
Or, recently I picked up a Thai green curry.
I’ve enjoyed green curry ever since one of my friends who grew up in Thailand made it for me. It’s typically on the spicier side of what my taste buds can handle, but the flavors are so good. Trader Joe’s sells several snack foods with Thai flavors, including Thai lime & chili cashews and a tom yum snack mix that are are both very good.
During my latest TJ’s run, rather than just going with snacks, I decided to try the green curry meal I found in the freezer section.
We buy products for review using our own funds. I paid $4.69 for an 11.28-ounce package of Trader Joe’s Thai Green Curry in 2025. That comes out to about 42 cents per ounce.
This is a product of Thailand.
This is vegan. If you’re looking out for allergens, this contains soy and coconut.
The complete ingredients list contains mostly whole, easily identifiable ingredients. The only thing you might not find in your own home kitchen is maltodextrin, but it’s pretty far down in the ingredients list.
The full ingredients list includes cooked jasmine rice, coconut milk, tofu sheets (soybean, water), carrot, coconut cream (coconut, water), water, eggplant, green curry paste (green chili, lemon grass, garlic, salt, galangal, coriander seed, lime peel, white pepper, cumin, turmeric), sugar, red chili, soybean oil, sweet basil, vegetable powder blend (onion, cabbage, carrot, spring onion, maltodextrin, salt), cumin seed, and coriander seed.

This has some saturated fat, due to the coconut milk and coconut cream. Considering that this is heavy on the rice, it does have a decent carbs-to-fiber ratio of 9.4:1.
One package equals one serving, and it will net you 470 calories, 19 grams of total fat (24% DV), 11 grams of saturated fat (55% DV), 680 mg of sodium (30% DV), 66 grams of total carbohydrates (24% DV), 7 grams of dietary fiber (25% DV), 6 grams of total sugars, 3 grams of added sugars (6% DV), and 14 grams of protein.
The package only has directions for heating this in the microwave. Remove the tray from the box and carefully puncture the film three to four times with a fork to vent. Place the tray in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes. Stir gently and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

I liked this. It has a lot of jasmine rice, and there’s a lot of sauce compared to how many veggie and tofu pieces are in it, but it’s flavorful and made for a good lunch. It features tofu, several pieces of eggplant, and quite a few large pieces of cubed carrots, all in a well seasoned and moderately spicy sauce. I would buy this again the next time I’m craving Thai food.
The Verdict:
Trader Joe’s Thai Green Curry is a product of Thailand and features tofu sheets, eggplant, carrots, and jasmine rice in a spicy, savory sauce. It’s sold in a single-serve package that’s ready to heat in the microwave, making it a nice lunch for one. We approve.
