Aldi Introduces the Crofton Bread Making Kit

This post is an open thread and contains affiliate links

Bread making is the theme at Aldi this coming week. The grocer is once again selling a cast iron bread dome or bread oven that is a dupe of an expensive name-brand LeCreuset bread oven.

Aldi is also selling a bread making kit to go along with the bread oven. This kit has eight pieces, including a proofing basket with cover, a dough whisk, a dough scraper, and a bread lame. It also comes with a recipe book to offer inspiration and instructions for making your own homemade loaves.

Here, I’m taking a closer look at the bread making kit at Aldi.

What We Know:

Crofton Bread Making Kit

The Crofton Bread Making Kit (Product Code: 712129) is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores for just a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at a future date. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products that are sold out at your local store.

This is scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores September 25th, 2024.

The Crofton Bread Making Kit cost $14.99 at the time of publication. That’s cheaper than other bread making kits I found on Amazon at the time of writing.

Here’s more information, according to Aldi:

  • 8-piece kit includes a proofing basket with cover, dough whisk, dough scraper, bread lame with replacement blade, and recipe book to create delicious homemade breads
  • Dough scraper is dishwasher safe

This is sold under the Crofton brand. That’s not a company. Instead, it’s the name Aldi puts on kitchen products it sells, which it may source from various suppliers.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried this bread making kit, so we don’t know how well it works. We write open threads to give readers a place to discuss Aldi products.

  1. If I didn’t already own most of the components of this kit (and had spent more on them, surely), this would be an excellent deal. Combine this with either the bread dome or the Dutch oven as a wedding or first-apartment present. There are plenty of no-knead bread recipes online (as well as cookbooks devoted to the subject), which would make a useful supplement to whatever recipes are included with this bread-making equipment.

  2. This bread making kit sounds like fun and some good bread if we could make bread as good as my mom did back in the 40s and 50s. I love good baked bread. I love shopping Aldi and have for the last 10plus years.
