Aldi is Selling The Frozen Bean St. Patrick’s Minty Shamrock Frappe Mix While Supplies Last

Last spring, Aldi sold some delicious latte frappe mixes under the grocer’s Barissimo house brand. The mix came in three varieties: java chip, caramel crunch, or mocha cookie crumble. I bought the java chip, and when I mixed it with ice and milk in my Ninja blender, it made a great frappe like what you might buy at a coffee shop.

Those latte frappe mixes appeared to have been limited-time Seasonal Items because they didn’t stick around at Aldi. However, they looked almost exactly like some name-brand mixes made by The Frozen Bean. You can find The Frozen Bean products at Walmart and on Amazon.

Fast forward to today. St. Patrick’s Day is approaching on March 17th, and Aldi is rolling out all kinds of food and decor to help us celebrate. The last couple of weekly ads have featured shamrock garlands, green gnomes, and colorful leggings, along with corned beef, green cupcakes and cookies, and shamrock-themed ice cream.

One product that caught my eye among all those St. Paddy’s Day goodies is a Frozen Bean Minty Shamrock Frappe Mix. These are scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores on February 28th, 2024.

What We Know:

The Frozen Bean St. Patrick's Frappe Mix

These are Aldi Finds, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering for these if they’re sold out at your local store. While you can purchase Frozen Bean products from other places, so far I haven’t been able to find any other retailers selling this specific Minty Shamrock Frappe Mix.

The Frozen Bean Minty Shamrock Frappe Mix cost $4.99 for a 4.2-ounce box at the time of publication. One box contains three 1.4-ounce envelopes of mix. That comes out to about $1.19 per ounce or about $1.66 per serving.

These are kosher certified, gluten free, and made in the U.S. The box also states these make milkshakes if you prefer those instead of frappes.

If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain milk.

The first ingredient listed is sugar. These also contain some processed ingredients including corn syrup solids, xanthan gum, carrageenan, and artificial colors. (FYI: Aldi house brand products are free of synthetic colors, but The Frozen Bean is not a brand exclusive to Aldi.)

These have their share of calories, fat, carbs, and added sugars. One packet, or one serving, has 380 calories, 17 grams of total fat (22% DV), 15 grams of saturated fat (77% DV), 190 mg of sodium (8% DV), 55 grams of total carbohydrates (20% DV), no dietary fiber, 42 grams of total sugars, 38 grams of added sugars (76% DV), and 4 grams of protein.

To make a 12-ounce frappe, pour 5 fluid ounces of water or milk into a blender. Add one packet of mix. Add 1 1/2 cups of ice. Blend thoroughly until smooth. (You’ll need to make sure you have a blender that can handle ice for this.)

To make a 12-ounce milkshake, add 3 scoops of your favorite vanilla ice cream. Pour in 1 1/2 cups of milk or dairy-free milk. Add 2 tablespoons of mix. Blend thoroughly until smooth.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried these, so we don’t know how they taste. We write open threads to provide readers with a place to discuss Aldi products.
