Journey to Thailand Thai Style Red Curry Chicken
Aldi has sold some excellent frozen Indian meals in recent years. They include butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. These are quite possibly the closest to restaurant quality that we’ve ever gotten from a grocery store.
Now, Aldi is offering a frozen Thai style red curry chicken meal as well. The box states this features “succulent pieces of boneless chicken breast in a coconut cream sauce, infused with spices and savory vegetables.”
Journey to Thailand Thai Style Red Curry Chicken is an Aldi Find. That means it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store should receive one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is out of stock at your local store.
This was scheduled to arrive in stores January 21st, 2026.
We buy Aldi products for review using our own funds. Journey to Thailand Thai Style Red Curry Chicken cost $6.49 for a 16-ounce package in 2026. That comes out to about 41 cents per ounce. There are two servings per package, which comes out to about $3.25 per serving.

Heating Instructions:
This is fully cooked and simply needs heating.
The instructions on the box say to pour approximately 6 cups of water into a medium saucepan and bring it to a boil. Submerge the bag of red curry chicken into the boiling water and boil uncovered for 13-15 minutes. Using tongs, carefully remove the bag from the water. Cut open the bag and pour the contents into a serving dish. Ensure the temperature is 165 degrees before serving.

I’ve never had one of these meals get thoroughly heated in the time frame the instructions suggest. There are always still cold spots I don’t find until after I’ve opened the bag and poured the contents into a bowl. You can fix this by heating it the rest of the way in the microwave, but ideally the instructions should be changed.
I’m not a big fan of boiling my food in a plastic bag anyway, so my preferred way to heat these kinds of Aldi meals is to thaw them in the refrigerator overnight. Then, I pour the contents into a saucepan, a microwave-safe bowl, or even a small slow cooker and then heat it accordingly.
As for how this tastes, it’s good. I recently tried a red curry soup from Trader Joe’s, and this has similar flavors. This Aldi meal is very soupy / saucy, so you’ll want to serve it with some rice and / or naan to help mop up all the sauce. The chicken is very tender, and this curry has slices of pepper and onions and slivers of carrots. All the flavors blend nicely, and this is not really spicy.
I like this enough that I’ll pick up a couple more boxes if they’re still in stock the next time I’m at Aldi.
The Verdict:
Journey to Thailand Thai Style Red Curry Chicken is a sauce-heavy meal that features chicken, green beans, onions, carrots, and other veggies in a flavorful mix of spices. We don’t recommend eating this without rice or naan to help soak up the sauce. When served with rice or naan, though, this is a terrific dish.

I just ate this over rice and thought it was fantastic. I was mostly concerned about salt and the meal did not seem salty and both servings were only 1.4G
I thought it was 10 out of 10 for a frozen meal over rice.
