Ambiano Compact Dehumidifier

In the Midwest, where I live, humidity is an eternal struggle. During the summer, humidity can get high, turning even an 80+ degree day into a swamp — to say nothing of 90+ degree days. During the winter, with temperatures below freezing, humidity inside the house can get low, thanks to the furnace. Neither high or low humidity is good; high humidity can encourage mold and certain pests, while low humidity leads to dry, cracked skin and other irritations.
The sweet spot for indoor humidity is 30-50 percent. Achieving that is the art. Enter humidifiers and dehumidifiers, which can add or remove moisture from the air to meet your needs.
Aldi sells both. During the winter months, the grocer stocks various humidifiers to stave off dry air. During the summer, the grocer is known to sell the occasional dehumidifier, including this one.
The Ambiano Compact Dehumidifier is an Aldi Find. That means Aldi stores should get a single shipment, and once that shipment is gone, it’s gone. If you can’t find them in your store, you’re out of luck until they come back, whenever that might be. You can’t order this online if it’s out of stock at your local store. This was scheduled to arrive in stores June 3rd, 2026.
In 2026, the dehumidifier cost $49.99. That’s on par with prices for similar dehumidifiers on Amazon.

Unboxing and Setting Up the Dehumidifier:
When you open the box, you’ll find the dehumidifier itself, which features the upper control panel and a separate water tank below. You also get an electric cord and a user manual.
Setup is simple. Plug the electrical cord into the back of the dehumidifier. Then plug the cord into a wall outlet. Press the power button, and it will light up and begin working.
The buttons on the control panel allow you to select a timer function so the dehumidifier runs for 8, 12, or 24 hours.
The dehumidifier LED light cycles through different colors when operating, but you can press the light button to select a specific color or to turn the light off.
There’s also a sleep/night mode button that makes the dehumidifier operate with less noise and lower power, and it switches off the light.
Our Thoughts:
I’ve only just set this up and begun using it, so there’s a lot I don’t know still about how well this works. So far, though, I like how easy it is to set up and use.
One downside to this dehumidifier is that you have to manually empty the tank. We own a larger dehumidifier that has a hose connection and empties right into our basement drain, and you can’t beat the convenience. However, this Aldi dehumidifier costs substantially less, and it does have a timer feature and an automatic shutoff feature so at least I don’t have to closely babysit it to keep the tank from overflowing.
The LED lights are a bonus feature that add nice ambience. This also is small enough that it easily fits on a tabletop, shelf, or anywhere else you need a dehumidifier.
The Verdict:
The Ambiano Compact Dehumidifier has an approximate 1.7-liter capacity and looks to be a promising solution if you’re looking for a way to rid your space of excess moisture. We like it so far, and we’ll update this post accordingly after we’ve had more time to use the dehumidifier.
