Season’s Choice Veggie Fries

With the coming of the new year, Aldi often sells some healthier food options. I’ve recently spotted various smoothie mixes, bowl meals, and other less processed products in the Aldi Find freezer case.

I also found some veggie fries among the frozen foods. They come in two varieties: ranch and black bean. They’re advertised as kosher, vegan, and non-GMO. The ranch fries are “made with 7 different veggies” while the black bean fries are “made with 10 different veggies.”

I bought a bag of each and cooked them up recently in my air fryer.

Season’s Choice Veggie Fries are an Aldi Find. That means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and they’re gone after that sells out. Aldi might bring them back later, but that’s not a guarantee. Aldi does not offer online ordering if these are sold out at your local store.

We buy products with our own money to review. I paid $4.79 per 10-ounce package at my local Aldi in 2025. That’s about 48 cents per ounce. Each package contains about three 5-fry servings. That’s about $1.60 per serving.

Upon looking at the ingredients list, these are actually pretty decent. The ranch veggie fries list things like carrots, oat bran, vegan cream cheese, broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke, and more. The black bean fries contain black beans, cauliflower, green chili pepper, oat bran, and other easily recognizable ingredients.

Both varieties contain dextrose, along with vague “spices.” There’s also a tiny bit of added cane sugar (more on that shortly). But otherwise I like the ingredients lists, and these have a good carbs-to-fiber ratio of 4.2:1.

If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain wheat. They were processed in a facility that uses wheat, sesame, eggs, and milk.

One 5-fry serving of the black bean veggie fries has 150 calories, 6 grams of total fat (8% DV), 0.5 grams of saturated fat (3% DV), 330 mg of sodium (14% DV), 20 grams of total carbohydrates (7% DV), 5 grams of dietary fiber (18% DV), 2 grams of total sugars, no added sugars (again, cane sugar is listed far down among the ingredients, but it’s a small enough amount it isn’t listed in the nutritional information panel), and 4 grams of protein.

The bags have directions for cooking these in an air fryer (preferred) or in an oven or toaster oven.

To air fry, preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Place frozen fries in the air fryer and cook for approximately 3 minutes. Carefully flip and cook for an additional 3 minutes until heated through and golden brown. Let stand for 1 minute. Fries will be hot.

I air fried mine for 2-3 minutes longer than the directions indicate in order to crisp them up a little more. They tasted pretty good. The ranch veggie fries have a hint of ranch flavor, but it isn’t overly strong. Meanwhile, the black bean veggie fries have southwestern Tex-Mex vibes. They’re not spicy, though. These are fine to eat on their own, but my family enjoyed them with ranch dressing for dipping.

The Verdict:

Season’s Choice Veggie Fries come in ranch and black bean varieties. These cook up nice and crisp in an air fryer. They taste good, especially if you serve them with ranch dressing or some kind of dipping sauce. The ingredients lists are reasonably healthy, too. Recommended.
