Warm Your Spaces with the Aldi Easy Home Indoor/Outdoor Heater

This post is an open thread

When the weather turns cold, you might want a space heater to help warm up indoor places. Maybe you have a family room with drafty old windows, or you could have a basement that’s always a bit chilly, and a space heater helps to make these places feel a little more cozy.

Or, maybe you’re planning an activity outside — ice skating or sledding, for instance — and you want an outdoor heater where people can gather around to take the chill off. If you live in an area where the winter is cool but not freezing, an outdoor heater might allow you to comfortably host a party on the patio or deck.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a heater that was designed to work in both indoor and outdoor spaces? Aldi is selling such a product.

What We Know:

Easy Home Indoor Outdoor Heater

The Easy Home Indoor/Outdoor Heater (Product Code: 826416) is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back later. You can’t order this heater online from Aldi if it’s sold out at your local store.

This is scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores on December 20th, 2023.

The Easy Home Indoor/Outdoor Heater cost $29.99 at the time of publication.

Here’s more information, according to Aldi:

  • Features halogen lamp for outdoor and indoor use
  • Water resistant
  • Offers overheat protection
  • Built-in handle allows for easy carrying
  • Features safety shutoff when moved or tipped
  • Visible power cord length: 5.9 feet
  • 120 V, 60 Hz, 800W
  • Product dimensions: 6.5 x 6.5 x 24.8 inches
  • Product net weight: 5.95 pounds

This is sold under the Easy Home brand. This isn’t a company but rather is the private label Aldi uses for various home goods.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t used this indoor/outdoor heater, so we don’t know how well it works or how durable it is. We write open threads so readers have a space to discuss Aldi products.

  1. I purchased this and will leave a review after we’ve used it a while! Looking forward to others’ reviews.

  2. Bought the Easy Home Indoor/Outdoor Lamp all excited for it yesterday and am promptly returning it today, disappointed and a bit suspicious about how this is being marketed.
I returned it the next day and there were at least 4 more clearly-repackaged/returned boxes of these on the very shelf where I’d got the last box from the day prior; at least 4 people had the same disappointing experience as me. What a bummer, Aldi.

The product produces barely any heat, and certainly not enough to be felt in a chilly outdoor setting. Even sitting directly next to it in a basement, I was hard-pressed to notice the heat.

What I did notice was a super bright orange glow (which might be nice outdoors, granted) and a strange chemical smell coming from it. There’s a “mesh cooling fuzz” around it, which I assume is meant to be burn protection, but which seems like more of a hazard (if this thing even produced enough heat, that is).

There’s no heat adjustment and you’re stuck with a warmth that’s barely discernible, even indoors.

Props to the design; it’s sleek and the portability is great, with a nice movable handle. I guess. I wouldn’t recommend you pay $30 for this.
I’d gladly pay the price – or even $10 more – for this if it did what it says on the tin and then some; this is marketed like it should be more powerful than you’re typical space heater and be able to heat you outside, yet is a pale imitation.

  3. Strangely it’s freezing here in Fort Lauderdale this evening, my son went looking for a heater and found this online at Aldi‘s. I was excited until he plugged it in the orange bright light it’s just way too much. It says indoor/outdoor but it just doesn’t seem to feel safe indoor, I have it on for now but I’m afraid to leave it on because it’s so bright. It does give off a strong smell, I’ve only had it plugged in for about 20 minutes. We shall see.

  4. I received an outdoor heater from Aldi home well it was 50$ and it blew flames and shocked me when I went to unplug it and all I’m wanting is a non defective heater in return . Who do I contact if Aldi has no heaters and the box was thrown away with other Christmas boxes ?

I bought this Easy Home 800- Watt Heater at Aldi’s as a Christmas gift. Didn’t use it until mid March and found it did not put out any heat, disappointed. Thought maybe I missed a setting to expel heat but there is none, just on and off. Unfortunately I don’t have the receipt anymore but will go to Aldi’s to see if they might give me a credit towards groceries.
