Adventuridge Folding Chair

Last Updated on June 7, 2020

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated June 2020 with a 3-year progress report.

Is there a company out there that doesn’t sell one of these? By the time spring rolls around, I can pretty much walk into just about any grocery store, dollar store, big box store, or hardware store and find a folding chair with a cup holder and accompanying carry bag. If you told me your local Hobby Lobby carried these, I might believe you.

So, yeah, Aldi carries these. As a Special Buy, of course.

The Adventuridge Folding Chair, which retails for $7.99, comes in three colors (green, blue, red) and is pretty standard as far as folding chairs go. It typically comes out around the time of Aldi’s camping gear and accessories. The chair is manufactured by Zhejiang Yixin Industry Co. out of China, and it boasts a steel frame, polyester fabric, a built-in cup holder, and a carrying bag with a shoulder strap. It’s 5.12″ x 5.12″ x 39.2″ when folded up, and 19.7″ x 32.3″ x 35.3″ when expanded, and weighs about 5.6 pounds in either configuration. It is rated for holding up to 225 pounds of weight and comes with a 2-year warranty, serviced by Maginon.

There are a couple of small things that separate this chair from others we’ve used over the years. One, the cup holder is fabric along the side and mesh at the bottom, unlike the all-mesh cup holders we have on other folding chairs. We’re not sure if one configuration is better than the other, but we’ll see. Two, the chair comes with a mesh pocket along the back that can be used for, among other things, storing the bag. This is actually pretty handy and something we haven’t seen before, at least not from the (low-budget) places we buy these things.

Sitting in it feels more or less like other lawn chairs we’ve sat in before. It actually feels a little firmer than some of our other chairs, but that may be because it hasn’t been used the way others have been. Time will tell, but the good news is that it’s about as comfortable as any other comparable lawn chair we’ve used.

UPDATE (June 2020): We’ve had this chair for three years, and we use it occasionally during camping trips, picnics, and other outdoor outings. It’s easy to set up, comfortable, and both the chair and the bag have held up well with time. We’d say it’s one of the better folding chairs we’ve bought over the years.

The Verdict:

If you’re in the market for a foldable lawn chair, you’ve got about a million options … but this is a good one. The Adventuridge Folding Chair feels sturdy, does exactly what a lawn chair is supposed to do, and has a couple of small extras just for good measure. Add in a cheap price tag and a 2-year warranty and you’ve got yourself a winner. Recommended.

  2. These chairs are amazing. We have bought 6 of them. 13.99 a piece. We are 250 pds and these chairs are awesome. Super durable. I am speaking of the ones with the hard arms.

  3. Bought these chairs today for $5.99, clearance price. Driving home from the beach right now and they work great! So happy with the price and this purchase.

    • Hi Katie,
we bought two of these, no way can anyone fold them up. It’s ridiculous. Any chance you could help us out. Just bought another two from Aldi last weekend, they don’t have the plastic connectors on three sides of the legs , if that makes any sense

      • Hmm … not sure what’s wrong. They don’t come with instructions but they pretty much fold up like any other camping chair I’ve had. They simply fold up by pulling it together. You might make sure no fabric is caught in the joints, including the armrest fabric. If all else fails you can return them to Aldi. If you’ve only had them for a few days you can get a refund.

      • My friend has one of these chairs and cannot fold it. There are no instructions either. Did you solve the problem, Nat?

  4. I have two Aventuridge Chairs with the solid arms – somehow the cup holder on one has become lost, is there any way I can replace it, or do I throw away a perfectly good chair and buy another (when available)?

  5. I bought an advenrureridge high back solid armed folding chair from our local aldi, it looked beautiful and was very comfortable..problem…in major sleeves where tubing runs through it is fraying and coming apart..very disappoint
