Easy Home Rechargeable LED Flashlight

Flashlights are indispensable in my household. We use them for everything from camping trips to power outages. They’re also handy for certain jobs around the house where we might be working in dim or tight corners where a little extra light is helpful.

I like to keep multiple flashlights and lanterns of different designs stashed among our camping and / or emergency gear in the basement, so everyone in the family can have their own light when needed. Most of our flashlights and lanterns come from Aldi, including a 200 lumen LED flashlight, a 300 lumen LED flashlight, a 160 lumen LED flashlight, and a pop up lantern set.

The most recent flashlight to show up in the weekly Aldi ad is a little different. Instead of operating using traditional batteries, this one is rechargeable and comes with a USB cable for charging.

The Easy Home Rechargeable LED Flashlight is an Aldi Find, so it’s only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone unless Aldi decides to bring it back at some later point. Aldi does not offer online ordering for products not currently in stock at your local store.

The flashlight was scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores on September 24th, 2025. I’m not sure Aldi planned it this way, but this flashlight is arriving just in time if you want to pick up something to light your way while trick or treating on Halloween.

The Easy Home Rechargeable LED Flashlight cost $8.99 in September of 2025. That’s down from $9.99 in September of 2024 and in 2023 and 2020. That’s also on the lower end of prices compared to other rechargeable flashlights on Amazon.

What comes in the package: the flashlight and a USB charging cable.

Here’s more information about the light:

  • Features two brightness levels: 100% and 30%
  • Stepless zoom function allows you to select focus between spot and flood beams
  • Includes an SOS signal
  • Includes powerbank function
  • Max lumen: 400
  • Includes lithium-ion rechargeable battery with USB charging cable
  • Flashlight has an attached strap for carrying or hooking it to things
  • Made in China

The flashlight comes with a three-year warranty serviced by Protel, a common Aldi warranty provider. For service, call 1-855-754-8297 or email service-us@protel-service.com.

The Easy Home brand is not a company. Instead, it’s the private label Aldi uses for various home goods such as spray mops, portable LED air coolers, mini dehumidifiers, and more.

Using the Flashlight:

This comes with the flashlight and a small USB charging cord. At first I didn’t think this came with a manual, so I figured out how to use the light just by fiddling around with it. It’s not too hard.

I later discovered a manual (with ridiculously tiny print) when I went to dispose of the product packaging. When I pulled the cardboard pieces out of the clear plastic package so I could recycle the cardboard, I found the manual tucked between the two pieces of cardboard.

The manual was tucked inside the cardboard packaging.

It was pure luck, since some people might toss the packaging without taking it apart, never to know it contained a manual.

The flashlight worked for me right out of the package, so it does come already with a charge, at least to some degree. The manual recommends fully charging it before using it. I plugged it in to charge it, and the base started flashing blue, when it was fully charged, the blue light was steady. It took about two hours to fully charge the flashlight.

Note the circular on/off button on the base of the flashlight.

There’s a small button on the base of the handle that clicks once to turn the flashlight on full brightness. Click the button a second time for 30% brightness, or click the button a third time for the flashing SOS signal.

Lift the soft cover on the flashlight’s base to reveal charging ports. The on/off button still works with the cover lifted as well.

The zoom feature involves making the light shine in a wide circle or a small circle. The front end of the flashlight, near the light itself, is telescopic. Slide it out for a tighter, more focused light, or slide it back in for a wider, broader light.

Regarding the powerbank feature, at first it didn’t charge my phone when I plugged it in, but then it started charging when I tried again later. That was a bit odd, but for now, it’s working. When my phone is charging, the base of the flashlight glows green.

So far, I’ve used this flashlight on some evening walks in my neighborhood when it’s getting dark. It shines brightly, and it can illuminate a large area if you have the telescopic feature fully extended. The whole flashlight does get a warm after a few minutes of use, but it’s not hot. The strap on the handle is also a useful feature if you want to put it on your wrist to reduce your chances of dropping the light.

The Verdict:

The Easy Home Rechargeable LED Flashlight is a handy little light that requires no batteries. You charge it by connecting the included USB cord to a power source such as a wall adapter or power bank. It has two brightness levels plus a flashing SOS signal, and you can adjust the size of the spotlight. We’ve used this on the some evening neighborhood walks this fall as we’re losing daylight hours, and we like it so far. We’ll update this post with any new developments as we continue to use the light. The three-year warranty offers some peace of mind.

  1. I love this flashlight so much I bought 6 of them. Great size and it feels like a quality product. Really bright and the fact you can charge your phone or other device from it is a real bonus!

      1. Recharged one time then will not recharge again. Tried different cables, adapters etc and nothing. Bringing it back to the store .

        1. Turned light on ten times maybe when i got it, now switch doesnt work anymore. Any ideas how to get the switch out. Thing is maybe a week old….

  2. I’m trying to figure out how to properly charge it. It flashes at the charger port but I don’t know if that means it’s fully charged or charging. I’ll leave it over night but it would be nice to know weather or not I can use it tonight. :>{

    1. Sticker on mine says use 1amp charger so that’s typically only the older cell phone chargers not the quick charge 1.5a-2a chargers you get with phones nowadays. It takes a while to charge and the blue light will blink for quite some time utntil light stays in steady.

  3. I bought two of these flashlights. They worked great approximately five times. One quit working last week and the other one quit tonight. I hope Aldi will take them back.

  4. I have one of the first run ones and it’s by far the best little flashlight that I have ever owned if I can find more I will definitely buy more than one

  5. my wife bought the flashlight for a present to me and by the time i used the light and recharged it for the first the store was totaly sold out. i cannot find “ip20” anywhere. it is awesome and very strong light and construction.

Used an older charger and now the LED is blinking
Blue. Hope in a few hours it will indicate „fully charged“.

  7. I received two for walking my dogs at nighttime. These are the best flashlights I’ve ran across in a long-time. The settings come with a S.O.S. setting and the other two settings remind me of my vans low and high beams. When I got them, I semi-charged them up, a bit, and I promptly lost them in my van, and found them close to 2 weeks later and they both were bright as if they were just charged! They’ve been dropped, bumped, rained on heavily and they keep working really well and bright. Charging dues take awhile, but I couldn’t ask for a more brighter light, as small and compact as it is. Unbelievably bright!!

  8. worked about 4 charges then would not charge. Just blinks 1 time. tried a different older 1 amp charger and still no joy. Customer service said take back to store. I have had about 4 or 5 months and dont know where the receipt is. Great!

  9. Mine is charging for the first time now. Meanwhile, as an old typesetter I am offended by the “ridiculously tiny print” in the user manual. It is an insult to the consumer. (Yes, you can take photos with your phone and enlarge it, but you shouldn’t have to.) The teeny tiny pull tab to open the cover for charging is also an insult to the many of us with fat fingers. Hopefully the flashlight itself will compensate for the terrible instructions and bad design.

    1. We agree the pull tab is awkward, and yes, the tiny print in the manual is bad. So far, though, we like the flashlight.

  10. Dropped it one too many times. now the internal parts slid around making is impossible to charge. We think we could make an indestructible flashlight by now.

  11. My flashlight works great and I’m satisfied with it. Been using it for camping a lot and purchased two more for family members.
    No complaints 👍
