EDITOR’S NOTE 1: Updated for 2023.

EDITOR’S NOTE 2: Aldi sold a slightly different version of this in May of 2024 for $19.99, with dimensions of 18.1 inches W x 12.5 inches D x 31.4 inches H.

If container gardening is your thing, you’ve probably discovered that Aldi is one of the best places to buy both potting mix and planters of all types. Over the years, the discount grocer has sold stacking planters, rattan planters, wooden raised planters, mini metal raised planters, lattice planters, whisky barrel planters, and even small decorative ceramic planters. This spring, Aldi even sold a potting bench in case you needed a command center for your container garden efforts.

Most gardeners simply arrange their potted plants on the surface of a deck, porch, or patio. However, there are times when you might want to literally up your container gardening game by elevating your planters on a shelf of some kind. Plant shelves help to fit more plants in a small space, and they offer a striking, visually pleasing display.

Aldi has sold a wooden plant ladder stand for the past couple of years to help with displaying potted plants. This year, Aldi also introduced another plant stand: the Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Plant Shelves. Belavi is the Aldi private label that encompasses gardening and outdoor products such as wood-burning chimineas, patio egg chairs, fire pits, sectionals, garden décor, and more.

What We Know:

Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Plant Shelves (2)

The Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Plant Shelves (Product Code: 814148) cost$29.99 in May of 2023. That’s $5 less than the $34.99 it cost in 2022. This is another Aldi Find that Aldi has quietly lowered the price on. This costs less than what most similar plant shelves cost on Amazon. It shelf has the look of certain more custom plant shelves such as what you might find on Wayfair or Etsy, but for a lot less money.

These Belavi shelves are an Aldi Find, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back next year. Aldi doesn’t offer online ordering for products that aren’t in stock at your local store.

Here’s more information about the plant shelves, according to Aldi:

  • Measures 19.7″ L x 25.2″ W x 31.5″ H
  • Plants not included
  • Includes three shelves for holding potted plants
  • Features a built-in chalkboard surface at the top for writing or drawing, and includes 2 pieces of chalk
  • Available in Natural Gray or Natural Brown
  • Maximum load per shelf: 11.02 lbs.
  • Folds flat for easy storage
  • No assembly required
  • Suitable for both indoor and protected outdoor areas

The plant shelves come with a three-year warranty.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet purchased the Belavi 3-Tier Wooden Plant Shelves, so we don’t know how easy they are to assemble or how well they hold up. We write open threads so readers can share about their experiences with products.

  1. Not great. I bought this plant stand this week and will be returning it. It has a design flaw. There are three shelves. The first shelf is great, open to the sun and has plenty of room for your plants. The second and third shelves are party underneath the shelves above them, so you can only use these for very short plants, if at all. I wanted to use this for a half-dozen potted herbs, but only the top shelf was usable.

I bought this to use to display cake pops at events. It was perfect for that use. No assembly required. My only regret is that I didn’t buy a second one when they were available!

  3. Aldi is selling similar plant shelves again the week of May 29th, 2024, while supplies last.
