All hail the folding camping chair.

You know what I’m talking about. Comes in a carrying bag. Metal legs. Folds outward from a long cylinder to a full chair. Armrests. Maybe a cup holder and / or mesh storage in the back.

Over the years, my family has purchased various folding chairs for use while camping, going to outdoor parties, or other activities where hauling chairs was a necessity. Over time, these kind of chairs tend to wear out, either as the carry bag starts to tear or the chair itself tears or breaks, or both.

Fortunately, retailers routinely sell these each summer. Aldi included.

From left to right: the 2017, 2022, and 2026 models of the Adventuridge Folding Camping Chair.

The Adventuridge Folding Camping Chair is an Aldi Find, which means it’s only available in stores for a limited time. Once it’s sold out, you can’t get it anymore. And because Aldi doesn’t ship its products online, if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

Aldi has been selling these chairs for a long time. We first wrote about them in 2017, and it’s possible they’re older than that. They’ve gone by slightly different names over the years — the Adventuridge Folding Chair, the Adventuridge Foldable Chair, the Adventuridge Foldable Camping Chair — but they’re all more or less the same thing.

In 2026, the chairs cost $12.99, the same as they did in 2024 and 2025. That’s up from the $7.99 they sold for in 2017, but also down from the $17.99 we paid in 2022.  That’s a lot less than what Amazon sells its house brand folding chair for.

The chairs tend to vary in color from year to year. They also vary what specific company makes them — and if they have a warranty or not — although all them are made in China. All of that should be printed on the tags attached to the chair. The general design, though, hasn’t changed all that much over the years.

We do like how the 2026 bag is reinforced at the bottom seam, as bottom seam tear is a common problem with foldable chair bags.

From left to right: the bags for the 2017, 2022, and 2026 models. Note that the 2022 bag is starting to fray as of 2026. Also note that the 2026 model has a plastic lining to protect the bottom seam.

The 2026 model, fully open, measures 28.3″ x 20.5″ x 35.4″ and has a weight limit of 264 pounds. That’s up from the 19.7″ x 32.3″ x 35.3″ dimensions and 225 pound weight limit of our 2022 an 2017 chairs. The chairs are made of a steel frame and a polyester fabric.

These chairs set up like other folding chairs: you take them out of the bag, unfold them, and you’re done. The chairs, as advertised, have both cupholders in the front and mesh pockets in the back.

I found comfort levels on these chairs to be decent and on par with other similar camping chairs that I’ve had over the years. There are more comfortable chairs out there that are also heavier and harder to transport, and there are also more portable chairs that are less comfortable. These seem to occupy a middle ground in those areas, offering good portability and good enough comfort.

The Verdict:

In our view, the Adventuridge Foldable Chair is on par with other similarly designed foldable camping chairs, both in terms of comfort and ease of use. It’s got features consistent with its price and is easy to use. And while not all of them have warranties, in our experience they tend to last several years of intermittent use. If you’re in the market for some new chairs of this style, these are worth a look.
