A puck is a disc made of black rubber that is used in ice hockey. A light is a device that produces illumination to brighten up a room.

As for a puck light? It’s a light shaped like … well, a puck.

Most puck lights are battery-powered, and many of them come with remotes. That gives users flexibility to place the lights wherever they need them without respect to wiring or sockets. If you’ve got an out-of-the-way spot that needs lighting or you don’t want the hassle of wiring, a puck light is a cheap way to get the job done. The downside is that batteries can drain, but batteries also don’t stop working during a power outage, so there’s that.

You can find puck lights at many hardware and big box stores. Since we all know a certain German grocer sometimes likes to imitate hardware and big box stores by way of its middle aisle, it’s maybe not surprising that puck lights have found their way onto Aldi shelves.

What We Know:

Easy Home LED Puck Lights with Remote (Product Code: 808803) are an Aldi Find. Each store will get one shipment, and once it’s depleted, the store won’t be getting any more. Aldi doesn’t ship products online, meaning that if you can’t find it in stores, you’re out of luck.

At the time of this post, the puck light set costs $14.99.
