Appetitos Lobster Roll Bites
Lobster rolls are one of my favorite things to order when they’re on the menu at restaurants. I also like to make them at home using langostino tails purchased from Aldi and brioche hot dog buns from Trader Joe’s.
This week, I found a twist on lobster rolls in the limited-buy freezer aisle at Aldi. They’re lobster roll bites. The box describes these as “lobster and cheese sauce in a puff pastry roll.”
These are sold under the Appetitos brand. That’s not a company. Rather, it’s the name Aldi puts on many of its appetizers, which it may source from different suppliers.
Appetitos Lobster Roll Bites are an Aldi Find. That means they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering if these are sold out at your local store.
We bought these ourselves for review. I paid $4.49 for a 6.56-ounce package at my local store in 2024. That comes out to about 68 cents per ounce.
If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain wheat, milk, crustacean shellfish (lobster), and egg.
These have a fair amount of fat and some sodium. One box has two four-piece servings. One serving has 300 calories, 18 grams of total fat (23% DV), 11 grams of saturated fat (55% DV), 340 mg of sodium (15% DV), 25 grams of total carbohydrates (9% DV), 1 gram of dietary fiber (4% DV), 1 gram of total sugars, 1 gram of added sugars (2% DV), and 8 grams of protein.

The box has directions for baking these in a conventional oven. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Place frozen pieces one inch apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Place on the center rack in the oven. Bake for 16-19 minutes or until fully cooked.
I’m guessing you could heat these in an air fryer as well, but I went ahead and followed the oven directions.

These consist of flaky pastry rolls with a thick, cheesy, savory filling. I don’t feel like the lobster flavor is very pronounced, so if you’re hoping for a lot of seafood vibes, you may be disappointed. Otherwise, these taste fine.
The Verdict:
Appetitos Lobster Roll Bites feature a cheesy sauce with small lobster bits inside flaky pastry crusts. They taste good, but how much lobster flavor they have is debatable.
