Specially Selected Mini Chocolate Cheesecake Bites

This post is an open thread

For those times when The Cheesecake Factory isn’t in your budget, Aldi can be a good place to get your cheesecake fix. I have spotted different types of cheesecake in the grocer’s Regular Buy freezer, and Aldi also frequently rotates specialty cheesecakes into its refrigerator and freezer cases. I’ve seen Aldi cheesecake specials include everything from whole cheesecakes to whipped cheesecake to cheesecake bites, and even cheesecake in a jar.

The latest cheesecake item to drop into Aldi is this little package of mini cheesecake bites.

What We Know:

Specially Selected Mini Cheesecake Bites

Specially Selected Mini Cheesecake Bites are an Aldi Find, so they’re only in stores for a short time. Each store receives one shipment, and after that sells out, they’re gone unless Aldi decides to bring them back later. Aldi does not offer online ordering for these if they’re sold out at your local store.

I found these in my local store’s Aldi Find freezer section, but the weekly Aldi ad indicated they would be stocked in the refrigerated aisle, so you might have to look around a bit to find these.

Specially Selected Mini Cheesecake Bites cost $3.99 for a 6.35-ounce package at the time of publication. That’s about 63 cents per ounce. With six single-serving mini cheesecake bites per package, that comes out to about 67 cents per serving.

These are imported from Belgium. The package includes two milk chocolate-flavored mini cheesecake bites, two dark chocolate mini cheesecake bites, and two white chocolate mini cheesecake bites.

The mini cheesecake bites I found in my local store had a best-by date of about two and a half weeks out. Of course, you can freeze these if you don’t plant to serve them right away.

If you’re looking out for allergens, these contain milk and wheat. They may contain egg, soy, hazelnuts, almonds, and pistachios.

Ingredients include cream preparation, skimmed milk, vegetable fats, sugar, water, corn starch, emulsifier, sugar, water, wheat flour, butter, whole milk powder, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, cheesecake powder, dextrose, modified starch, beef gelatin, ethyl alcohol, emulsifier, acidifier, raising agent, salt, and natural vanilla flavor.

There are six one-bite servings per package. One serving has 115 calories, 6.8 grams of total fat (10% DV), 4.5 grams of saturated fat (22% DV), 20 mg of sodium (1% DV), 11.4 grams of total carbohydrates (4% DV), 0.2 grams of dietary fiber (1% DV), 8.8 grams of total sugars, 8 grams of added sugars (16% DV), and 1.3 grams of protein.

The package has directions for “preparing” these. You’ll want to thaw them in the fridge first if you purchased them frozen. Then you open the plastic foil and take off the cover. Place the product on a plate. Grab the edge of the foil. Carefully unwind the foil while the product is still cold. The cheesecake is now ready to serve. Serve cold.

What We Don’t Know:

We haven’t yet tried these, so we don’t know how they taste. We write open threads to provide readers with a space to discuss Aldi products.
