Merry Moments Ornament Storage

EDITOR’S NOTE: This review is from 2024. Aldi is selling this ornament storage again in December of 2025 for the same price of $9.99. See our update at the end of this post about our thoughts on the storage box after using it for a year.

I’ve never before purchased storage specifically intended to be used for Christmas ornaments. I have a couple of plastic totes with lids, and I carefully pack ornaments away in them at the end of each holiday season. Some things get packaged back in their original boxes and then go in the plastic totes. Other ornaments get wrapped in tissue paper and placed in the totes.

This year, things have started to get a little crowded in my two dedicated Christmas ornament totes. I’ve gotten into the tradition of buying new ornaments as gifts for each of my kids and for my husband during many recent years. We also went to Disney World this past summer, and several ornaments came home with us.

So, when I saw Aldi advertising ornament storage boxes as part of a wider selection of Christmas storage options — including tree storage bags, light reel storage, and wrapping paper storage — I went ahead and added one to my weekly shopping list. (I also picked up the tree storage bag.)

This was called the Huntington Home Holiday Ornament Storage box when I bought it in 2024. As of 2025, it’s called Merry Moments Ornament Storage. Neither Huntington Home nor Merry Moments are companies. Instead, Huntington Home is the name Aldi puts on some home goods it sells, and Merry Moments is the name Aldi puts on Christmas decor it sells.

It is an Aldi Find. It’s only in stores for a short time. Stores get a single shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone until next year. Aldi does not offer online ordering if this is sold out at your local store.

We bought this ourselves for review. I paid $9.99 for it at my local store in 2024. That’s less than similar ornament storage options I found on Amazon.

What comes inside the package. Clockwise from top left: the lid, the box, multiple small notched vertical dividers, and three horizontal dividers.

Here’s more information, according to the packaging:

  • Includes removable dividers
  • Stores up to 48 ornaments
  • Dimensions: 15″ L x 15″ W x 15″ H
  • Collapsible to save space when not in use
  • Includes handles on both sides
  • Available in red or in black and white buffalo check

A layer of vertical dividers assembled.

There are no instructions to assemble this, but it’s pretty self-explanatory and only takes a few minutes. Open up the main box, and then put one of the large, flat base pieces in the bottom of the box for stability. Then, start assembling the small vertical dividers. They’re notched so they fit together. Once you have a whole section done, place it in the box, add another flat base piece, and continue to add assembled vertical dividers. Keep going until the box is full.

The dividers are all just cardboard covered with fabric. Sometimes the cardboard shows through, like here.

If you are packing up ornaments after Christmas, then you’d place an ornament in each slot as you make the three different layers in this box. Each of the three levels of storage in the box has four rows of four slots. That’s a total of 16 slots for 16 ornaments on each level, with a grand total capacity of 48 ornaments for the entire box. You might fit more ornaments than that in the box if you have some smaller ornaments and can put two in a slot. Each slot measures about 4 inches long by 4 inches wide and almost 5 inches tall.

Dividers in the bottom of the box.

This is a good box that holds quite a few ornaments, and it offers more protection than my old method of carefully packing things in tissue paper in plastic storage tubs. The window on the front is kind of cool, too.

I also like the overall look of this box. It’s nicer-looking than a plastic storage tote, and it will look good on a shelf or wherever you place it.

The fully assembled box. A viewing window lets you see some of the spaces that hold ornaments.

My Christmas tree and ornaments are obviously still up, so I haven’t truly put this box to the test yet. I’ll update this post once the holiday season is over and I’ve packed things into this box.

The Verdict:

The Huntington Home Holiday Ornament Storage box offers storage for 48 standard-sized ornaments, with three different levels of storage and a viewing window. It assembles easily and is a good way to organize and protect your Christmas ornaments. At just $10 per box, you can buy several to hold your entire ornament collection.

UPDATE (12/10/2025) — This box works fine. One minor frustration is that you have to deconstruct all the different layers and dividers in the box whenever you pack or unpack it. It also might not be the most efficient use of space, but it does offer good protection for the more fragile ornaments in my collection.
