Hydro Force Cove Champion X2 Inflatable Kayak Sails into Aldi

Spring and summertime in the Aldi middle aisle is an exercise in the season. Whether it’s festive fare to celebrate the summer holidays — Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the Fourth of July in between — or products that just scream summer, Aldi keeps it robust.

This time of year also means getting into the water, and on that front Aldi sells plenty, from watercraft that lets you float above the waves or gear to swim below. In the early summer of 2025 and then again in the spring of 2026, we spotted a full-fledged kayak heading to Aldi stores.

What We Know:

 

The Hydro Force Cove Champion X2 Inflatable Kayak is an Aldi Find, meaning it’s only in stores for a limited time. Stores should get one shipment, and once it’s sold out, you won’t be able to get it in stores again until it comes back, whenever that might be. Aldi does not offer online ordering for this if it’s out of stock at your local store. This is scheduled to arrive in Aldi stores May 13th, 2026.

Hydro Force is under the Bestway brand, which is not an Aldi house brand but is instead a company that sells its products in various retailers in the United States, including Walmart. Bestway sells all kinds of water and inflatable-related products, from pools to inflatable mattresses. The kayak Aldi is selling can be found on Bestway’s website as well as on Amazon.

Aldi is selling the kayak for $99.99 in May of 2026, which is up from $89.99 in May of 2025. That same kayak is currently selling for around $170 on Amazon. Kayaks can get a lot more expensive than that, too, so from a price perspective, this is a pretty good deal.

Aldi recently redesigned its website and is not currently sharing details about upcoming Aldi Finds. However, here are some of the features we know from when Aldi sold the kayak in 2025, according to Aldi. We can’t guarantee that all of these specifications are still true for the 2026 model.

Now, we’ve taken inflatable watercraft out on the water before, and to be honest … we haven’t been impressed. Yes, this is more compact than a regular kayak: an inflatable can go in the trunk of a small car without trouble, as opposed to a hard kayak that needs a roof rack.

But that portability comes at a cost. For one, we’ve found inflatable watercraft to be far less maneuverable. In our experience, a hard kayak can sail over the water thanks to its rigid build, while an inflatable one is likely to be less nimble and maneuverable.

What’s more, there’s also the obvious question of durability. A puncture can render an inflatable watercraft useless. If you know anything about waterways, you know rocks are everywhere.

To be fair, the Amazon reviews are generally good, currently averaging 4 out of 5 stars across 700+ ratings. While not everyone likes them, 74% of the reviews are 4 or 5 stars.

Consider all of that with this kayak.
