Power Force Ultra Dishwasher Cleaner

I’ve seen a different house brand at Aldi recently. It’s called Power Force, and I’ve seen the label mostly on spray cleaners. Power Force looks like a brand that’s appeared on cleaning products at Aldi stores in the United Kingdom and Australia, but I only first saw the brand in my local Aldi in the U.S. a few months ago.

Aldi recently sold limited-edition dishwasher cleaner and washing machine cleaner under the Power Force brand.

I’ve never used a dishwasher cleaner before. I regularly run a cup of vinegar on a wash cycle in an otherwise empty dishwasher, and I scrub the dishwasher by hand as needed. I decided to pick up the dishwasher cleaner to try at home.

Power Force Ultra Dishwasher Cleaner is an Aldi Find. That means it’s in stores for a short time only. Each store gets one shipment, and after that sells out, it’s gone. Aldi does not offer online ordering for this if it’s out of stock at your local store.

We buy Aldi products with our own money to review. I paid $4.99 in March of 2025 for a 1.33-ounce package with three cleaner pacs. That comes out to about $1.66 per pac.

I’m not sure the Aldi pacs are the greatest value. I found name-brand Affresh dishwasher cleaner tablets selling for $1.46 per tablet if you buy two boxes of six each on Amazon.

The Aldi box says this product helps reduce limescale, eliminates odor, has grease-fighting power, and contains three ready-to-use single pacs. This was made in the U.S. of global components.

Ingredients are sodium citrate, sodium silicate, sodium sulfate, alcohols C12-14 ethoxylated propoxylated, laureth-6, polyvinyl alcohol, propylene glycol, water, fragrance, and colorants. This contains fragrance allergens.

The box has directions for using the pacs. Ensure the dishwasher is empty. Do not add any soap or detergent. Place one pac directly into the dishwasher dispenser and close the dispenser door. Run a regular wash cycle with the dishwasher empty. Use one pac per week for three consecutive weeks for a highly soiled machine. For maintenance, use monthly.

The box has the expected warnings. It may irritate eyes and skin, and, obviously, don’t put it in your mouth.

What comes in the box: three pacs inside a plastic pouch.

The dishwasher cleaning pacs look just like a regular dishwasher pac you’d use to wash your dishes. I popped one in my dishwasher and ran a regular cycle. When it was done, my dishwasher smelled noticeably clean and fresh.

My initial impression is that this could be a good product if you have a lot of buildup from hard water or are dealing with a smelly dishwasher. I still don’t think there is any substitute for giving the dishwasher an old-fashioned scrubbing by hand, especially paying attention to the filter. Some people who use dishwasher cleaning products like this say that their dishes are noticeably cleaner after using a dishwasher cleaner. I’ll update this post if I notice any changes with my dishes.

The Verdict:

Power Force Ultra Dishwasher Cleaner features little pacs that look like dishwasher detergent, except these clean the dishwasher itself. They get props for making our dishwasher smell good. You can find cheaper dishwasher cleaning tablets elsewhere.

  1. I am allergic to fragrance. Thinking of using this after I go to bed. Does the fragrance linger? Anyone else with allergies use it?
